  • Publication number: 20210078190
Abstract: The present invention relates to a hair cutting appliance, a blade set for a haircutting appliance, and to a stationary blade for the blade set, the blade comprising a first wall segment, a second wall segment and an intermediate wall segment, fixedly interconnected forming a segmented stack, wherein the intermediate wall segment is disposed between the first wall segment and the second wall segment jointly forming, as an end of the segmented stack at least one toothed leading edge comprising a plurality of mutually spaced apart projections defining a plurality of teeth and respective tooth spaces, wherein the intermediate wall segment comprise a cutout portion and wherein the cutout portion in the intermediate wall segment, the first wall segment and the second wall segment define therebetween a guide slot for a movable blade. Further discussed is a method for manufacturing a respective blade.

  • Publication number: 20160229072
Abstract: The present invention relates to a hair cutting appliance (10), a blade set (20) for a hair cutting appliance (10), and to a stationary blade (22) for said blade set (20), said blade (22) comprising a first wall segment (50), a second wall segment (52), and an intermediate wall segment (54), wherein the first wall segment (50), the second wall segment (52), and the intermediate wall segment (54) are fixedly interconnected, thereby forming a segmented stack (56), wherein the intermediate wall segment (54) is disposed between the first wall segment (50) and the second wall segment (52), wherein the first wall segment (50), the second wall segment (52), and the intermediate wall segment (54) comprise a substantially equivalent overall extension, thereby jointly forming, at an end of the segmented stack (56), at least one toothed leading edge (32, 34), wherein the at least one leading edge (32, 34) comprises a plurality of mutually spaced apart projections (36) defining a plurality of teeth (40) and respective to

  • Patent number: 8397604
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a cutting member (6) of a shaver (1) includes the steps of providing a plate-shaped carrier (10), cutting at least one cutting element (9a, 9b) free from the carrier except for a residual connection between a base (15, 23) of the cutting element and the carrier, and bending the cutting element relative to the carrier. The steps of cutting free and bending are performed simultaneously using a tool (11) having a combined punching and bending effect. By using such a tool, the action of cutting free is obtained by a tearing process which does not lead to a free space and a loss of material between the cutting element (9a, 9b) and the carrier (10). As a result, the strength of the carrier is not reduced by such a free space or loss of material.
