  • Patent number: 6960349
Abstract: A lotion suitable for use in a disposable wiping article is disclosed. The lotion can be used to wet pre-moistened wet wipes, and is particularly suited for use in pop-up dispensing systems of disposable wet wipes, such as baby wipes. The lotion provides for improved reliability of pop-up dispensing while maintaining adequate wet impression. The lotion is an aqueous solution comprising a surfactant selected from the group consisting of phosphate-quaternary amine compounds and non-ionic surfactants, and effective amounts of a second ingredient selected from the group consisting of non-cellulosic organic water soluble polymers and alkoxylated alcohols. Other ingredients such as preservatives and fragrances can also be included in the lotion.

  • Patent number: 5891008
Abstract: An improved method is disclosed for forming a strata of overlapping sheets suitable for use in a pop-up dispensing system. The sheets are cut from ribbons which initially have edges essentially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the ribbon. At least one side edge of each ribbon is stretched to form a knee-like protrusion, with the opposing side edge being either, substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the ribbon, or also stretched to form one or more knee-like protrusions on the opposing edge. The ribbons are then aligned so that a knee-like protrusion on one edge aligns with either the essentially parallel edge of an adjacent ribbon or a knee-like protrusion on the side edge of an adjacent ribbon. After phasing, the ribbons are overlapped creating a series of predetermined areas of greatest overlap adjoining areas of least or no overlap, such that successive ribbons are bonded only by the interfacial interaction between each ribbon.

  • Patent number: 5630848
Abstract: A home dry cleaning article is provided. Thus, a hydroentangled carrier sheet comprising mixed cellulosic, rayon, polyester and optional bicomponent fibers which is releasably impregnated with solvents such as butoxy propoxy propanol, 1,2-octanediol as a wetting agent, water and an emulsifier is prepared. The article is placed in a plastic bag with soiled garments and tumbled in a hot-air clothes dryer. The garments are cleaned and refreshed.

  • Patent number: 5516001
Abstract: A tissue package comprising a dispensing package and tissues. The dispensing package has a dispensing opening. The dispensing opening has a large aperture and an arcuately shaped smaller aperture which are spaced apart and connected by an isthmic connection.
