  • Publication number: 20180206938
Abstract: A motor-driven dental device has a motor control that is responsive to a load placed upon the motor. More specifically, the invention relates to a dental device having motor that drives a tool, wherein the tool is activated or otherwise controlled in response to a load placed upon the motor through the tool, such as by touching the tool to a surface. The tool may also be controlled by the sustenance, over a predetermined time period, of an increase or decrease in motor current beyond a predetermined hysteresis current threshold. The motor may be an electric motor, a rotary electric motor, and air driven motor, an ultrasonic device or the like.

  • Publication number: 20160000544
Abstract: A non-surgical treatment for receding gums utilizes the fact that tissue responds to continuous controlled mechanical forces with growth. The treatment system includes an impression of the upper and/or lower teeth, including the surrounding existing gums, so that a vacuum can be established within the impression around teeth and gums. Before use, selected portions of the impression are carved out a desired amount to create a location for the expansion and regrowth of the gums. Additionally, one or more channels may be included in the impression for delivery of the vacuum to all areas encompassed by the impression. The treatment system also includes a vacuum source operatively attached to the impression so as to be able to deliver a vacuum to the impression once the impression is place in the patient's mouth over the teeth and gums.

  • Patent number: 8096868
Abstract: A method and system is provided for conducting a wagering game. A spin result is determined, the spin result including a set of symbols positioned within a set of symbol positions. The symbol positions may be arranged in rows and columns or another arrangement. The spin results and associated symbol positions may be displayed on a viewable display area. A prize associated with the spin result may be awarded. The wagering game may include a first trigger condition, a second trigger condition and an end condition. If the spin result meets the first trigger condition, additional symbol positions may be added. If the spin result meets the second trigger condition, symbol positions may be removed. If the spin result meets the end condition, the wagering game ends. If the spin result does not meet the end condition, the wagering game continues by determining a next spin result.

  • Publication number: 20100111155
Abstract: An instrument screen display includes a unique marker that provides the correlation and navigation through the analog data. The marker tells the user which packet or symbol is being displayed in the analog trace. The selected line in the listing (listing row that is blue) and the blue line on the trace above indicate which packet is selected for the purpose of showing details and packet data in the other tabs in the listing window. In addition to correlation, navigation can occur from either display. This type of marker is an innovative approach to correlating and navigating the disparate data types displayed on a modern oscilloscope.

  • Publication number: 20090136283
Abstract: The present invention is a collapsible retractable pen for attachment to a hand-held device, such as a cell phone. The pen extends from a compact size to an extended size to provide a comfortable fit in the hand. The extension exposes, in a coordinating movement, the writing point of a retracted ink refill. The movements are governed by a system of keys and keyways between the telescoping housing components. The nested keys and keyways allow a narrow profile while providing an intuitive operational sequence. The invention includes a sheath, or alternatively a clip, for holding the pen and attaching it an object.

  • Patent number: 7027991
Abstract: A speech-responsive command and control system and methodology for use in a signal measurement system, enabling an operator to control certain features and functions of the oscilloscope without using manual or graphical controls. A speech-responsive command and control system includes a speech recognition engine constructed and arranged to validate digital voice signals in accordance with an associated grammar file defining command and control utterances for controlling the signal measurement system. A voice controlled measurement system controller is also included. This controller is constructed and arranged to control the signal measurement system in response to text utterances validated by the speech recognition engine. The grammar may include rules defining acceptable command and control utterances suitable for controlling the signal measurement system.

  • Patent number: 6958754
Abstract: A digital oscilloscope assists in the process of identifying, cataloging and restoring views of interest within a stored trace acquisition by implementing the notion of bookmarks. In response to a command to establish a bookmark, the scope takes note of selected display control parameters, such as the location of the view in the overall acquired trace and horizontal time per division, and stores that as a named bookmark. The scope accepts from the operator a comment associated with each bookmark. Another command lists defined bookmarks and causes the scope to re-institute the view and parameters associated with a specified bookmark. There is a mechanism for editing the descriptors or parameters that are defined by a bookmark.

  • Publication number: 20030179242
Abstract: An apparatus and methodology for use in a signal measurement system having a graphical user interface. The apparatus constructed and arranged to simultaneously render on a display of pixels a main waveform display and a magnified waveform display is disclosed. The main waveform display is adapted to have displayed therein one or more waveforms and associated data on a first graticule with a background while the magnified waveform display is adapted to have displayed therein a magnified view of a region of the main waveform display on a second graticule with a background. The region of the main waveform display to be magnified is defined by a graphically-controllable selection window positioned over the main waveform display to encompass the region. Preferably, the operator-controllable selection window has a position and extent that may be graphically manipulated.
