Abstract: The invention relates to a photostable screening cosmetic composition for protecting human skin against UV rays, comprising, in a cosmetically acceptable substrate containing at least one fatty phase, 1 to 3% by weight of 4-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4'-methoxydibenzoylmethane and at least 4.5% by weight of p-methylbenzylidenecamphor, the weight ratio of p-methylbenzylidenecamphor to 4-(1,1-dimethyl-ethyl)-4'-methoxydibenzoylmethane being higher than or equal to 3.It also relates to a process for protecting the skin against UV radiation and to a process for stabilizing 4-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4'-methoxydibenzoylmethane against UV radiation.

Abstract: Combination of pyrimidine derivatives and retinoids, as separate components, for inducing and stimulating hair growth and reducing its loss.Combination designed to induce and stimulate hair growth and reduce its loss, characterized in that it comprises in separated form:a) a component (A) containing at least one retinoid in a physiologically acceptable medium, andb) a component (B) containing at least one pyrimidine derivative in a physiologically acceptable medium.

Abstract: A composition for inducing and stimulating hair growth and/or reducing hair loss comprises at least one alkylpolyglycoside and at least one compound having formula (I) in a physiologically acceptable medium. ##STR1## In compound (I) , R.sub.1 represents the group ##STR2## where in R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 may be selected from hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl or cycloalkyl. R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 may also form a heterocycle with the nitrogen atom to which they are bonded. The heterocycle may be an aziridinyl, azetidinyl, pyrrolidinyl, piperidinyl, hexahydroazepinyl, heptamethyleneimine, octamethyleneimine, morpholine or 4-low alkylpiperazidinyl group. These heterocycles may be substituted at the carbon atoms by one to three alkyl, hydroxy or alkoxy groups. R.sub.2 is selected from hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, alkylalkoxy, cycloalkyl, aryl, alkylaryl, arylalkyl, alkylarylalkyl, alkoxyarylalkyl and/or haloarylalkyl. The physiologically acceptable acid addition salts of the compound may also be used.

Abstract: The invention relates to a photostable filtering emulsion containing in association, in the aqueous phase, a photostable filter with a wide absorption band constituted by partially or totally neutralized benzene-1,4-[di(3-methylidene-10-camphosulphonic)] acid, and in the oily phase a photostable system which filters the UV-A rays containing at least one of the following compounds: N-(2-ethylhexyl)-3-[(3'-methoxy-4'-n-butoxy)benzylidene]-10-camphosulphona mide (compound 2), 4-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4'-methoxydibenzoylmethane (compound 3) and 4-isopropyldibenzoylmethane (compound 4), these two latter compounds 3 and 4 being photochemically stabilized by at least one fat-soluble filter of .lambda..sub.max less than 330 nm chosen from the following benzylidene camphor derivatives: benzylidene camphor (compound 5), p-methylbenzylidene camphor (compound 6), N-(2-ethylhexyl)-4-(3'-methylidene camphor)benzene sulphonamide (compound 7) and 3-methoxy-4-n-butoxybenzylidene camphor (compound 8).

Abstract: The invention relates to a transparent cosmetic composition that protects the human epidermis, containing, in a cosmetically acceptable vehicle, by way of an agent that reflects infrared radiation, 0.5 to 10% by weight of titanium dioxide flakes of dimensions between 1.5 and 25 microns, dispersible in the cosmetic medium used, possessing a reflectance (R) of infrared radiation equal to at least 45%, and of which a 2% strength dispersion in vaseline possesses an optical transmission in the visible of at least 85%.This cosmetic composition can also contain 0.5 to 20% by weight of UV-A, UV-B or broad-band screening agents.

Abstract: A process for dyeing keratinous fibers employs a dye composition containing an oxidation base selected from a paraphenylenediamine, an N,N'-diphenylalkylene diamine, a para-aminophenol, an ortho-aminophenol, an ortho-phenylenediamine or a heterocyclic oxidation base, in combination with iodide ions. The application of this dyeing composition to the keratinous fibers is preceded or followed by the application to the fibers of a composition containing hydrogen peroxide.

Abstract: The subject of the invention is a new composition comprising a nicotinic ester with a pyrimidine derivative, to produce hair regrowth much more rapidly than with the pyrimidine derivative alone, the nicotinic ester for its part having no action in respect of hair regrowth. Furthermore, the combination makes it possible to use smaller quantities of pyrimidine derivatives or a lower frequency of application.
