The applicator may include a side wall, a substantially closed first end defining an application surface, and an open second end. The duct may define an axis and a passage in communication with the container. A portion of the axial length of the applicator may be located around the duct. The applicator may be configured such that, when the applicator and the container are coupled together, at least one cavity is formed between a free end of the duct and an internal surface of the applicator, and at least one portion of the applicator has a thickness along a direction of the axis of the duct that is less than the thickness of the side wall in a direction substantially perpendicular to the axis of the duct.

Abstract: A brush for applying a substance to keratinous fibers may include a twisted core defining turns and bristles extending from the twisted core. The bristles may be clamped between the turns of the twisted core, and the bristles may include at least two deformed bristles clamped between two adjacent turns of the twisted core. Each of the at least two deformed bristles may have a length wherein at at least one point along the length each of the at least two deformed bristles includes either removal of material at the at least one point, stretching of material at the at least one point, or flattening at the at least one point. Each of the at least two deformed bristles may extend outward from the at least one point in a non-radial manner with respect to the twisted core.

The applicator portion comprises a first succession of teeth and a second succession of teeth substantially opposite the first succession of teeth. At least a plurality of the teeth of the first succession have free ends situated along a first line having a generally concave side facing away from the applicator portion, and at least a plurality of the teeth of the second succession have free ends situated along a second line having a generally convex side facing away from the applicator portion. The applicator portion defines an envelope surface, the envelope surface having, at least one point along its length, a cross-section being generally elongate in shape and having a major axis substantially parallel to a straight line joining together the first line and the second line.

Abstract: A device for at least one of applying a product to a surface and packaging a product may include at least one element that may include at least one substance, and at least one of the product and the surface receiving the product may be enabled to contact the at least one substance. Alternatively, or in addition, the at least one element may generate at least one of an electric field and a magnetic field, and at least one of the product and the surface may be enabled to be subjected to the field generated by the at least one substance. The brush is of an overall cylindrical shape and comprises at least one concave cutback (7) which holds the product during the wiping and which is obtained by clipping the brush. Such a brush allows a make-up to be obtained which is copious, regular and elongating.
