    Abstract: A method for transmitting data packets of at least two different priority levels via one or more bearer channels is described. The method comprises the steps of fragmenting a data packet into a plurality of corresponding code words, each code word comprising a sync code, with the sync code being adapted for indicating a priority level of the corresponding data packet, and of transmitting the code words via the one or more bearer channels. In case high priority code words corresponding to a high priority data packet arrive during transmission of low priority code words corresponding to a low priority data packet, the following steps are performed: interrupting transmission of low priority code words, transmitting the high priority code words corresponding to the high priority data packet, and resuming the transmission of the low priority code words via the one or more bearer channels.

    Abstract: A DSL transmitter and receiver are disclosed that efficiently estimate crosstalk interference. When transmitting over a DSL cable, each of the lines of the cable cause interference in the signals traveling though the other lines in the form of crosstalk. In order to reduce the complexity of the crosstalk estimation calculations, the transmitter sends a measurement signal whose matrix includes a plurality of sub-matrices that include less than all of the signal slots and are modulated with QAM +1s or ?1s. Meanwhile, the remaining signal slots are modified with QAM 0 s, which do not require any processing during the crosstalk estimation. Rather than calculating crosstalk vectors of all lines, the receiver need only calculate the crosstalk vectors for the signal slots contained within the sub-matrices, thereby significantly reducing complexity.

    Abstract: The universal mixer device for mixing two gaseous fluids comprises an enclosure defining coaxial chambers, ducts opening out respectively into each of the chambers to feed them with two gases at medium pressure, and sonic nozzles each comprising a hollow converging-diverging body of revolution serving as seats for respective cone-shaped valve members. The valve member of one of the nozzles has an axial bore and defines the chambers at least in part. The other nozzle is disposed inside the axial bore. The hollow converging-diverging bodies of revolution occupy positions that are determined relative to the enclosure, and the valve members are mechanically linked to each other and are associated with a single actuator. The gases that have passed through the coaxial and geometrically similar nozzles flow into a common downstream chamber in which the gases mix with a predetermined mixing ratio determined by the dimensions of the nozzles.

A closing control module cooperates with a pressure-measuring housing to deliver an on/off pneumatic signal to the closing actuator as a function of the value of the pressure of a gaseous fluid to be controlled relative to at least one reference pressure determined by the pressure-measuring housing. A manual control element is used to apply an on/off pneumatic signal of predetermined value to the opening actuator and for selectively resetting the safety valve member. The safety and automatic stop device of the present invention is particularly adapted for application to a buried gas expansion station.

    Abstract: This invention relates to supply circuits for fluids under pressure, particularly gases. Such circuits ordinarily comprise a main pipe between a source of fluid and a point of consumption, and to which main pipe is fitted a regulator and pressure-reducer and at least one obturator is normally fitted to this main pipe downstream of the regulator and pressure-reducer. In such an arrangement, the present invention provides means for minimising over-pressures consequent on the said obturator closing which are caused by the inertia of the regulator, which means is fitted as a by-pass to the main pipe on either side of the regulator and pressure-reducer. In one preferred embodiment, this means comprises a venturi and a reservoir which is connected by a first pipe means to the venturi and wherein the venturi is fitted to a second pipe means as a by-pass to the regulator and pressure-reducer, a valve being provided in the second pipe means upstream of the venturi.
