Publication number: 20060102459Abstract: A clutch for an electric motor includes a pinion with a groove, a hub with a cleat and a spring. The pinion is mounted freely on a drive shaft, and the hub is mounted integrally on the drive shaft. The spring includes end legs housed in the groove of the pinion and stems defining a space to receive the cleat of the hub. The pinion is driven by the hub via the spring, which can absorb the over torque generated when the motor stops by sliding in the groove. The hub, the cleat and the spring assembly offers a simple design and limited bulk.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 10, 2005Publication date: May 18, 2006Inventors: Philippe Ottolini, Jean-Marc Belmond, Jean-Pierre Noel

Publication number: 20060103143Abstract: A lock has a locking state and/or an unlocking state. The lock includes a locking arm movable between a number of positions corresponding to the states of the lock and a motor with a drive shaft for driving the locking arm. The drive shaft defines a trajectory with respect to the locking arm. The lock also includes a locking rod articulated to the locking arm over the trajectory of the drive shaft with respect to the locking arm. The lock makes it possible to obtain a less bulky lock.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 12, 2005Publication date: May 18, 2006Inventors: Jean-Marc Belmond, Philippe Ottolini, Jean-Pierre Noel

Publication number: 20060103260Abstract: An electric motor includes a rotor and a commutator housing having at least two flexible conductors connected to brush holders. The flexible conductors provide a connection to electrical supply posts which extend parallel to an axis of the rotor. The motor can thus be assembled into a housing, such as a vehicle door latch housing, with the axis of the rotor parallel to the electrical supply posts without needing a supplementary assembly component.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 10, 2005Publication date: May 18, 2006Inventors: Philippe Ottolini, Jean-Marc Belmond, Jean-Pierre Noel

Publication number: 20060103146Abstract: A lock includes a housing, a claw outside the housing and a pawl acting on the claw that is inside the housing. The pawl is less exposed to the environment and is better protected, improving the lifetime of the lock.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 10, 2005Publication date: May 18, 2006Inventors: Jean-Pierre Noel, Philippe Ottolini, Jean-Marc Belmond

Publication number: 20060006671Abstract: An electro-mechanical latch mechanism of a lock includes a latch claw that can move to close and release the latch mechanism and a pawl adapted to keep the latch claw in a closed position. Cooperating means have a point of action that can be operated on by a release lever, as well as a point of action that can be operated on by an electric motor. The pawl is linked to the latch claw by a unidirectional linkage that can be coupled-in and coupled-out electrically. Starting out from this core design, a whole range of locks can be built up by a suitable choice of release levers and electric motors and by suitable programming of the electric motor for coupling in and coupling out the unidirectional linkage between the pawl and the latch claw.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 9, 2005Publication date: January 12, 2006Inventors: Jean-Pierre Noel, Jean-Marc Belmond, Frederic Burkat, Eric Colin, Veronique Mejean, Vincent Poirot, Richard Grandjean

Publication number: 20050173942Abstract: A control system for vehicle doors and windows in a vehicle door includes a first openable member, such as a vehicle door, a second openable member, such as a window in the door, and a logic unit that commands the second openable member to open in the event the first openable member fails to open. The logic unit preferably commands a window regulator to actuate if the door fails to open. The vehicle door can be fitted with the system. A method includes the step of commanding the second openable member to open with the logic unit in the event the first openable member fails to open.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 6, 2005Publication date: August 11, 2005Inventors: Benoit Bazin, Frederic Burkat, Alain Desplebains, Dominique Attanasio, Jean-Pierre Noel, Catherine Masson, Stephanie Brien, Jean-Marc Belmond, Emmanuel Huber

Patent number: 5344767Abstract: A method of preparing a high specificity .sup.35 S-sulfide comprises preparing a reducing mixture comprising hydrochloric acid, hydriodic acid and hypophosphorus acid, substantially removing any sulfate present in the mixture, admixing the reducing mixture with a composition comprising an .sup.35 S-sulfate corresponding to a desired .sup.35 S-sulfide to obtain the .sup.35 S-sulfide, and recovering the .sup.35 S-sulfide from the admixture. The thus prepared .sup.35 S-sulfides are applicable to the synthesis of high specificity .sup.35 S amino acids and derivatives thereof by sulfhydrylation, e.g., in the presence of an enzyme and a .sup.35 S-sulfide or sulfhydric acid and the O-acetylated amino acid. The labeled amino acid may be separated from the reaction mixture by reverse phase chromatography.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 1992Date of Patent: September 6, 1994Assignee: Commissariat a l'Energie AtomiqueInventors: Claude Boullais, Jean-Pierre Noel, Michel Riva

Patent number: 5205184Abstract: Brake designed to be connected to a brake cable (15), comprising a ratchet plate (1, 2) fixed to the floor of the vehicle, a pawl (4) designed so as to interact with the ratchet plate (2), and a handgrip lever (6) equipped with a push-button (18) associated with the pawl; it comprises a cassette casing (5) mechanically integral with the lever, containing the ratchet plate (1, 2) and the pawl (4), articulated on the ratchet plate and on the end of the brake cable (15). The cassette (5) is formed from two end plates (5a) between which are arranged the ratchet plate (1) and the pawl (4), and which are fixed to the lever (6) Because the lever is split into a grip lever (6) and a cassette casing (5), it is possible to make only the latter from sheet metal so as to enable it to withstand forces, whilst the lever (6) can be made from plastic molded into various shapes depending upon the desired aesthetics.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 1992Date of Patent: April 27, 1993Assignee: Rockwell Automotive Body SystemsInventors: Jean-Pierre Noel, Philippe Clerc

Patent number: 4061016Abstract: In order to measure the life of the foam of an effervescent beverage a predetermined quantity of the liquid is held in an upper vessel. This liquid is then allowed to fall rapidly into a lower vessel formed of transparent material and rotated about a vertical axis. As soon as the liquid is poured violently into the lower vessel a timer is started. Simultaneously a light source directs a beam of light upwardly through the vessel and a photocell situated above the vessel receives this light. When the foam has decreased sufficiently to allow the beam to pass through to the photocell, circuitry connected between the photocell and the timer is arrested. The elapsed time is proportional to the life of the head on the beverage.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1976Date of Patent: December 6, 1977Assignee: Ste Anonyme Dite Brasseries Kron EnbourgInventors: Jean Pierre Noel, Gilbert Bauer
