Abstract: Digital-type hands-free telephone apparatus is provided including a microcontroller, an audio board and a COFIDEC circuit, in which the microcontroller permanently calculates the average values of 16 successive samples on each one of the send and receive channels and deduces therefrom which channel is to be enabled while attenuating the other using tables provided in ROM memory.

Abstract: The telephone station has a first attenuator inserted in a transmission channel, and a second attenuator inserted in a reception channel. Each attenuator has a variable impedance mounted in shunt on the corresponding channel. A circuit controls the attenuators as a function of the relative levels of signals collected respectively from the transmission and reception channels. A bridge circuit introduces a difference between the levels of the signals collected respectively from the two channels. The bridge circuit includes a resistor bridge formed by two fixed resistors inserted in each channel upstream of the attenuator which is associated with said channel, and by a variable impedance which constitutes the attenuator. The common node of the two fixed resistors is the point of collection of the signal from each channel.

Abstract: A method of treating insufficiencies in hematosis, such as hypoxemia, cardiac insufficiency, and polyglobulia, involving treatment of a patient suffering from such insufficiency with the compound almitrine or a pharmaceutically-acceptable salt thereof in extremely low daily dosages, between 0.5 and 3 mg/kg orally or 0.05 to 0.3 mg/kg intravenously, an oral unit dosage form of the said active ingredient, containing between 20 and 70 mg of active ingredient together with a pharmaceutically-acceptable carrier or diluent, preferably about 50 mg of the active ingredient.
