  • Patent number: 4714036
Abstract: The device according to the invention comprises a passive guiding assembly and a correction device, acting in combination to offer a regular fold before the stitching station. The passive assembly comprises two elements of which one is placed inside the other in the form of a U during formation of the fold. The upper and lower faces of the inner element are plane and horizontal, the lower face being in the working plane of the stitching station. The recess between the two elements allows passage of the fabric. The correction device comprises a device for detecting the presence of the fabric placed under the inner element and an active guiding assembly. The active guiding assembly abuts on the fabric and ensures transverse displacement thereof as a function of the instructions given by the detection device.

  • Patent number: 4682553
Abstract: An installation for linear treatment, such as the edging of textile pieces. It comprises a sewing machine, equipped with a feed dog/presser foot system, a work table which supports the piece during edging, a detection device and two recentering means controlled together or independently of each other by the instructions given by the detection device. The two recentering means consist, on the one hand, of an active guide placed immediately in front of the presser foot and ensuring displacement of that part of the piece located near the presser foot, substantially transversely with respect to the line of stitching, and, on the other hand, of a mobile support placed upstream of the active guide presenting a mobile flat surface, on the same plane as the work table.

  • Patent number: 4432295
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for processing rectangular pieces of fabric wherein the piece of fabric is moved in a first direction until the front edge reaches and is held in a predetermined front position, whereas the remaining part of said piece continues to move in said first direction until the rear edge reaches and is held in a predetermined rear position. The piece is thereafter moved in a second position while the front and rear edges are kept apart at a predetermined distance, and the aforesaid edges are hemmed simultaneously by hemming machines. The method and device according to the invention are used for hemming pieces having two parallel edges, and in particular rectangular pieces cut from a continuous web of fabric, such as for example floor cloths.

  • Patent number: 4371159
Abstract: A handling device and installation for bringing to a second station, in a predetermined and fixed orientation and position, a piece, and in particular a supple piece in sheet form such as a fabric, situated in a first station in an approximative position. The installation includes photoelectric edge detectors for locating the position of the piece at the first station, drive motors for bringing and positioning a carriage opposite so-called gripping zones which are predetermined locations on the piece, and shoes for gripping the piece at the first station at the gripping zone and moving the piece to the second station whereby pieces of fabric are supplied in a predetermined orientation to a sewing station.

  • Patent number: 4346877
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for handling sheet-like pieces, whereby a swell is made on a zone of a piece in sheet form by pressing the latter between the support and a pressing member, the piece is gripped at the level of this zone, between the pressing member and a finger, and the piece thus gripped is displaced with respect to the support. The invention is more particularly applicable to the handling of pieces of material stacked in a pile.

  • Patent number: 4312281
Abstract: An installation for the linear treatment, such as sewing, along a curved edge, of a flexible piece of fabric or other material comprises: a sewing machine; a device for moving the piece along an axis; a work table for supporting the piece during its treatment; and a correcting device comprising: detection means for detecting the presence of the piece 1 in a zone upstream of the point of treatment and situated on one side with respect to the axis of treatment, and re-centering means comprising one part of the work table which is movable in rotation about an axis which is offset with respect to the axis of treatment and a motor controlled by the said detection means for driving the said part in rotation. The invention finds an application with cording machines in particular.

  • Patent number: 4109595
Abstract: A multidifferential device of the type comprising a plurality of differentials, whereby each comprises a differential holder with at least two epicyclic gears and two planetary gears and in which the imaginary rotation axis of all the differential holders and planetary gears is the same. The differential holders and planetary gears are designed as rotary members, whereof two serve as input members and one serves as the output member. They comprise two end members and, between them, a plurality of intermediate members in which an end input and output member is constituted as a planetary gear, whereby the epicyclic gears of every other intermediate differential holder member are located at the same radial level relative to said rotation axis. A plurality of intermediate differential holder members each comprises an external or internal planetary gear path on both of its faces. At least one inner or outer epicyclic gear of each end member comprises a planetary gear.
