  • Patent number: 7816995
Abstract: A system includes a first circulator, a second circulator connected to the first circulator and a load, a third circulator connected to the second circulator, and a filter connected between the first and third circulators. The filter modifies the phase and amplitude of a first signal from the first circulator to produce a modified first signal. The modified first signal amplitude may be equal to the amplitude of a second signal from the second circulator. The phase of the modified first signal is about 180 degrees out of phase with the second signal phase. The third circulator circulates the modified first signal towards the second circulator. The first signal comprises a coupled signal from the first circulator. The second signal comprises a signal reflected from the load and a coupled signal from the second circulator. The filter may be a passive network having lumped, distributed, and resistive elements.

  • Patent number: 7770125
Abstract: In an application that uses a graphical user interface, a technique for automatically grouping graphical constructs receives a selection of a graphical construct for placement within a group of graphical constructs within a graphical work area of a graphical user interface. The system detects an existing group of graphical constructs already defined in a group and graphically displays an automatic grouping indicator that identifies, to a user of the graphical user interface, that the selected graphical construct can be automatically grouped within the existing group. The system receives, from the user, a selection of the existing group of graphical constructs that has an automatic grouping indicator displayed, and in response, automatically groups the selected graphical construct into the selected existing group of graphical constructs that has an automatic grouping indicator displayed on the graphical user interface.

  • Patent number: 7719384
Abstract: A system includes more than one subsystem, each subsystem operating within a different subsystem frequency range, the subsystems comprising a circulator having three or more circulator ports and a direction of circulation, the circulator operating within a specific frequency range of the subsystem frequency range, and a filter, such as a bandpass filter, connected to at least one of the circulator ports. The filters each define a subsystem port and operate within the specific frequency range. Each subsystem port has a port index determined by the direction of circulation of the circulator within the subsystem. Each subsystem port has a specific port index that is connected to a common port having the specific port index. At least one of the circulator ports may be terminated to a matched load. Each subsystem circulator may comprise at least three circulator ports, with a filter connected to each of the circulator ports.

  • Patent number: 7431332
Abstract: A side impact or rollover protection restraint system (20) is presented having an air bag (22) which upon inflation is of sufficient height to extend from proximate a seat (25) of a vehicle to a location generally adjacent the shoulder of a 95th percentile sized seated occupant such that the inflated air bag will lie between the occupant and a side portion of the vehicle. The air bag including a first and a second panel (24a,24b) of material that are joined together to create a pair of inflatable volumes (36,38) and an internal tether (30) for forming a corresponding bridge between predetermined regions of each of the first and second panel (24a, 24b) such that upon inflation of the air bag these regions are spaced from one another by at least one internal tether, wherein the air bag includes more than one inflatable volume, wherein each volume includes corresponding internal tethers.

Abstract: A side impact or rollover protection restraint system (20) is presented having an air bag (22) which upon inflation is of sufficient height to extend from proximate a seat (25) of a vehicle to a location generally adjacent the shoulder of a 50th percentile sized seated occupant such that the inflated air bag will lie between the occupant and a side portion of the vehicle. The air bag including a first and a second panel (24a,24b) of material that are joined together to create a pair of inflatable volumes (36,38) and an internal tether (30) for forming a corresponding bridge between predetermined regions of each of the first and second panel (24a, 24b) such that upon inflation of the air bag these regions are spaced from one another by at least one internal tether, wherein the air bag includes more than one inflatable volume, wherein each volume includes corresponding internal tethers or separator means.

  • Patent number: 5915087
Abstract: A proxy which is part of a firewall program controls exchanges of messages between two application entities. The proxy interrogates attempts to send a communication session by requesting entities with a server entity in accordance with defined authentication procedures. The Proxy interfaces with networking software to direct a communication stack to monitor connection messages to any address on specific ports. The requestor's address, and the server's address are extracted from the messages and checked fo compliance with a security policy such as one including an access control list. If either address is invalid, the proxy deletes the message. If both are valid, the message is relayed, and the ports used are tracked for a predetermined time. Reply messages are then sent using the address of the server entity so that the proxy is transparent to the requester.
