  • Patent number: 5450688
Abstract: A device for supporting a plurality of fishing rods with reels when in their two-piece states comprising, in combination, a handle formed of a generally horizontally disposed linear member having a grip in the central extent thereof with downwardly turned ends with outwardly extending support rods the support member also having a carrying strap extending upwardly from the ends and over the grip and notches; a pair of support wheels, each support wheel having a central recess for the receipt of a support rod for coupling therebetween, each of the support wheels having a plurality of axially aligned recesses extending inwardly from the periphery, the recesses being formed in pairs of large and small recesses, with the recesses of the wheels in axial alignment to form complementary sets for the receipt of fishing rod halves with the smaller outboard end in each rod half in the larger recesses; and a pair of bases, each formed with a flat segment positionable on the ground and an upper segment coupled with respec

  • Patent number: 5399472
Abstract: A silver halide emulsion is disclosed including a blend of a first image dye-forming coupler which does not intrinsically inhibit development of silver halide, and a second image dye-forming coupler which intrinsically inhibits development of silver halide. The intrinsically development inhibiting couplers are defined empirically versus a standard coupler. For purposes of this invention DIR couplers are not considered intrinsically development inhibiting couplers. Photographic elements and methods for developing images using the coupler blends are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5250403
Abstract: Novel tabular grain emulsions and a process for their preparation are disclosed in which silver bromoiodide tabular grains account for greater than 97 percent of total grain projected area and the coefficient of variation of the total grain population is less than 25 percent. This is achieved by forming in a first reaction vessel and transporting to a second reaction vessel a population of silver bromide grain nuclei in the form of regular octahedra having an equivalent circular diameter of less than 40 nanometers and a coefficient of variation of less than 50 percent and in the second reaction vessel converting the grain nuclei into a grain population containing parallel twin planes in more than 90 percent of the grains, so that upon further growth silver bromoiodide tabular grains of desired properties can be realized.

  • Patent number: 5189457
Abstract: Apparatus 10 for processing photosensitive sheets in a tank 12 having a developer solution comprises a gas distributor 14 having a single gas distribution means 16 with at least two independent gas inlet lines 18,20 for providing a gas to the distributor 14. In another preferred embodiment, the gas distributor has independent first and second gas distribution means 26,28. In this embodiment, gas distributor 14 may be substantially star shaped and comprise a plurality of closed ended gas dispensing ducts 30 emanating from a common hub 32. In still another preferred embodiment, the gas distributor 14 is a substantially square shaped member comprising a plurality of closed ended dispensing ducts 30 alternatingly arranged in the same plane of member 31. The dispensing ducts 30 have a plurality of spaced openings 25 for emitting gas into the processing solution. In an alternative embodiment, an in-line check valve 36 prevents solution from flooding the gas distributor 14.
