  • Publication number: 20070212194
Abstract: A method facilitates assembling a gas turbine engine assembly including at least a first member and a second member. The method comprises inserting a threaded fastener through an opening formed in a flange, and providing at least one shank nut including a flanged mating end, an opposite non-mating end, and a body extending therebetween. The body includes an internal surface, an external surface, and a centerline extending between the body ends. The flanged mating end includes a substantially planar exterior surface that is aligned perpendicularly to the centerline and an annular groove that extends from the exterior surface at least partially towards the non-mating end. The method also comprises securing the assembly together such that the mating end is positioned flush against the flange and such that the threaded fastener extends at least partially into a bore extending through the shank nut and defined by the shank nut internal surface.

  • Publication number: 20070118194
Abstract: A therapy system for therapeutically treating a desired region of the body includes a fluid reservoir, a heat transfer pad, and first and second fluid circulation lines. The heat transfer pad includes a first pad port, a bladder, and a second pad port. The first fluid circulation line is connectable to the first pad port for withdrawing heat transfer fluid from the fluid reservoir and delivering it to the heat transfer pad. The second fluid circulation line is connectable to the second pad port for withdrawing heat transfer fluid from the heat transfer pad and delivering it to the fluid reservoir. The heat transfer pad additionally includes a pad flowpath adjustment member positioned in the pad flowpath to adjust the system resistance to flow. The adjusted system resistance to flow fixes the desired treatment temperature of the heat transfer pad in response to the heat transfer fluid circulating through the pad flowpath. The desired treatment temperature is correlated to the body region being treated.

  • Publication number: 20070078377
Abstract: A medication infusion system may include a controller and a reservoir module including a reservoir containing medication to be delivered to an internal wound site via the controller. The controller may have a peristaltic pump driven by a motor to urge medication to flow toward the internal wound site. The controller and the reservoir module may each have a mating surface oriented such that the reservoir module can slide into engagement with the controller along a direction parallel to an axis of rotation of the motor. The mating surfaces may have features such as dovetails that facilitate secure assembly and retention. A reservoir module may include only a single reservoir for infusion, or two separate reservoirs for infusion and aspiration. One single controller may be capable of mating with either type of reservoir module to provide only infusion, or infusion combined with aspiration, as desired.

  • Publication number: 20070073268
Abstract: An integrated infusion and aspiration system includes of a flow control system and a catheter assembly. The catheter assembly includes an infusion catheter and an aspiration catheter, each having ports located at the distal end of thereof. The distal ends of the catheters are separated so that the aspiration catheter ports can be positioned on an opposing side of a surgical wound site from the infusion catheter ports. Methods of operation of the integrated infusion and aspiration system provides for uninterrupted aspiration with concurrent controlled delivery of an infusion solution such that the infusion solution is substantially evenly dispersed of over the wound site.

  • Patent number: 7006993
Abstract: A surrogate system for the transparent control of electronic commerce transactions is provided through which an individual without a credit card is enabled to shop at online merchant sites. Upon opening an account within the surrogate system, the account can be funded using numerous fund sources, for example credit cards, checking accounts, money orders, gift certificates, incentive codes, online currency, coupons, and stored value cards. A user with a funded account can shop at numerous merchant web sites through the surrogate system. When merchandise is selected for purchase, a purchase transaction is executed in which a credit card belonging to the surrogate system is temporarily or permanently assigned to the user. The credit card, once loaded with funds from the user's corresponding funded account, is used to complete the purchase transaction.

  • Publication number: 20050033262
Abstract: A portable medication delivery system enables a patient to elect slow continuous auto-administration or rapid bolus self-administration of a fluid medication. The medication delivery system has an infusion pump, which includes a fluid storage chamber and a spring-driven piston positioned in the fluid storage chamber. The fluid storage chamber is initially charged with the medication and the infusion pump automatically delivers a continuous dosage of the medication at a first flow rate over a long time from the fluid storage chamber to a treatment site in the patient. A bolus injector is positioned in series or in parallel with the infusion pump and is charged with a bolus dosage of the treatment fluid from the fluid storage chamber for alternate manual self-injection of the medication into the treatment site at a higher second flow rate for a short time.

  • Publication number: 20040128347
Abstract: A system and method for providing remote content access in portal environments operating on is provided. A portal environment executing in a web browser on a local computer (e.g., a laptop, PC, or PDA) allows access to local and remote applications and data. Local and remote applications from multiple vendors are integrated using an application integration service, and access thereto is provided in the portal environment. A portal services module handles requests generated by the user from the portal environment, and determines whether the user is online or offline. If the user is online, a remote portal catalog is downloaded from a remote server, and dates therein are compared to file dates of the requested content to determine whether the local content is out of date. If the local content is out of date, updated versions of the content are downloaded from the remote server to update the local content. The updated content is provided to the user, and is accessible when the user is both online and offline.
