  • Patent number: 12042978
Abstract: An inner mandrel for forming a variable taper component includes a plurality of interlocking pieces and a brace. Each interlocking piece defines opposed tapered edge faces, a first surface, and a tapered second surface opposite the first surface. One of the edge faces defines a locking feature and another of the edge faces defines a receiving feature engaging the locking feature of an adjacent interlocking piece. The first surface defines a variable taper and a plurality of recesses. The brace secures the plurality of interlocking pieces to each other in a concentric arrangement about a central axis. A maximum width of each of the interlocking pieces is smaller than a minimum width of an end portion of the variable taper component. A central portion of the variable taper component is wider than the end portions.

  • Publication number: 20240223486
Abstract: An event detection system in a telecommunications network is coupled to base stations to receive characteristics of uplink network traffic transmitted to the base stations. The event detection system identifies a geographic area in which the one or more characteristics of a subset of the uplink network traffic, generated by electronic devices located within the identified geographic area, satisfy a criterion. An event indicator is generated based on the subset of uplink network traffic. The event indicator can then be used by the event detection system, another component of the telecommunications network, or an external system to provide an event-based service that leverages information about events to provide information or content to people participating in or nearby to an event.

  • Publication number: 20240223997
Abstract: An event indicator is received from an event detection system in a data network. The event indicator identifies a geographic area in which characteristics of uplink network traffic, generated by electronic devices located within the identified geographic area, satisfy a criterion. One or more media content items that were generated by respective electronic devices located within the identified geographic area are identified. Each media content item is mapped to a respective location within the identified geographic area based on a location of the respective electronic device that generated the media content item. A first media content item is output to an emergency response system based on the location to which the first media content item is mapped.
