Patent number: 8920734Abstract: Devices dispense air treatment chemicals in response to heat generated by a candle. There is a support mounted on the candle that carries a substrate bearing the air treatment chemical. The support holds a heating plate with substrate thereon over the candle, and a chimney in the heating plate (and passage through the substrate) allow heated air to pass through when the candle wax is being combusted. Heat dispersal fins are formed along the chimney. A washer shaped substrate is provided that is made of fiberglass bound with polyvinyl alcohol and bears the air treatment chemical.Type: GrantFiled: July 3, 2012Date of Patent: December 30, 2014Assignee: S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc.Inventors: Paul E. Furner, Phillip Kongshaug, Donald J. Schumacher, Jeffrey P. Mills

Patent number: 5537838Abstract: A dispenser combines the efficiency of a post-mix dispenser, while providing the visual appeal of a visual spraying dispenser. A bowl holds a liquid that is circulated through a cooling system to provide a cool spray, and thus to create condensation on the outside of the bowl. The beverage that is dispensed is from remote supplies of concentrated syrup and water. The bowl has a single body that defines a number of compartments. The body is covered with a lid, and rests on a concentrate tray that drains away condensate that build up on the body. The body is easily removably and replaceably coupled to the tray. The valves for dispensing are on a movable support so that the height of the dispenser can be made smaller while still providing manual access to the valves.Type: GrantFiled: November 2, 1994Date of Patent: July 23, 1996Assignee: Jet Spray Corp.Inventors: Jeffrey P. Mills, Gary F. Sardynski

Patent number: 5535600Abstract: A cooling system for post-mix beverage dispenser includes an ice bath tank for holding a liquid, a refrigeration circuit for cooling the liquid in the ice bath tank, a concentrate storage area, and a cooling circuit coupled to the ice bath tank, for cooling the concentrate storage area. A pump in the cooling circuit transfers the liquid from the ice bath tank to a coil in the concentrate storage container. The circuit returns the liquid to the ice bath tank and creates the turbulence necessary for the liquid to freeze evenly in the tank. Thus, an agitator assembly is not necessary. A fan in the concentrate storage area circulates air over the coil. The pump can be selectively coupled to drain the tank.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 1994Date of Patent: July 16, 1996Assignee: Jet Spray Corp.Inventor: Jeffrey P. Mills

Patent number: 4744045Abstract: A circuit divides pulse code modulation (PCM) samples in D2 format. An exponent subtractor provides the difference of the exponents of the two numbers. A mantissa multiplier circuit determines the quotient by multiplying the mantissa of the PCM sample by an inverted divider. A sign generator provides a sign value for the resultant quotient of the two numbers. A normalizer circuit ensures that the quotient mantissa has a predetermined range of values.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 1984Date of Patent: May 10, 1988Assignee: GTE Communication Systems CorporationInventors: Jeffrey P. Mills, Max S. MacRander

Patent number: 4716538Abstract: A circuit multiplies or divides pulse code modulation (PCM) samples in D2 format. An exponent adder/subtractor provides the sum/difference of the exponents of the two numbers. A mantissa multiplier/divider circuit determines the product/quotient of the two mantissas and a sign generator provides a sign value for the resultant product/quotient of the two numbers. A normalizer circuit ensures that the product/quotient mantissa has a predetermined range of values.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 1984Date of Patent: December 29, 1987Assignee: GTE Communication Systems CorporationInventors: Jeffrey P. Mills, Max S. Macrander

Patent number: 4698771Abstract: A circuit adds and subtracts pulse code modulation (PCM) samples in D2 format. An exponent subtractor determines the difference between exponents of the two PCM samples. A mantissa shifter circuit shifts the mantissa portion of a selected PCM sample to compensate for the difference in the exponents. A mantissa adder circuit adds or subtracts the mantissa portion of the shifted and unshifted PCM samples and a sign generator provides a sign value representative of the resultant added or subtracted PCM samples. A normalizer circuit ensures that the mantissa has a predetermined range of values.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 1984Date of Patent: October 6, 1987Assignee: GTE Communication Systems CorporationInventors: Jeffrey P. Mills, Max S. Macrander
