  • Publication number: 20160200018
Abstract: A mold system for a resin transfer molding process is presented, in which a cavity of a workpiece (1) to be produced is fully enclosed circumferentially by a multi-part shaping mold (2). The shaping mold (2) is enclosed in a sealed manner by an outer, two or more part enveloping mold (7, 8). A method for consolidating a fiber composite component with this mold system and a method for producing a fiber composite component on the basis of the RTM process is provided, in which the intermediate space between a shaping mold (2) and a surrounding enveloping mold (7, 8) is filled with resin during the resin injection. After curing the resin initially remains on the shaping mold (2) as a resin body but is destroyed during the demolding of the workpiece (1), at predetermined breaking points. The demolding of the workpiece (1) from the shaping mold (2) is assisted.

  • Publication number: 20160194030
Abstract: Longitudinal members for motor vehicles may generally include a supporting element that is releasably connectable to an energy absorption mechanism. The supporting element may typically include a joining zone that can be used to secure the supporting element to one or more chassis or drive components of the motor vehicle. The supporting element and the energy absorption mechanism may be comprised of fiber-reinforced plastic. More specifically, the supporting element may be comprised of a plurality of length portions having different fiber orientations. For example, a first length portion may have fibers oriented substantially parallel to a horizontal longitudinal plane about which the supporting element is positioned, whereas a second length portion between the first length portion and the energy absorption mechanism may have intersecting fibers oriented oblique to the horizontal longitudinal plane.

  • Patent number: 9213065
Abstract: A method for detecting the malfunction in a three-phase synchronous electric machine by modulating variables. Two variables, which influence the torque of the electric machine are modulated. The first variable represents the q component of the stator current. The second variable represents the rotor flux. The variables are modulated by superimposing on their base signals, a test signal. Under faultless operation of the machine, there is no effect caused by the modulated variables on an electrical or magnetic parameter of the machine. When the modulated variables cause an effect on an electrical or magnetic parameter of the machine, a fault condition is detected.

  • Publication number: 20150343719
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for infiltrating a fiber preform of a component of fiber composite material with a matrix material. On the method side, it is proposed that an elastic coating (3) is applied onto the fiber preform (1, 23, 37), wherein the elastic coating (3) is widened to form a gap space (22) between the fiber preform (1) and the coating (3). The matrix material (21) is then fed into the gap space (22) and the elastic coating (3) is subsequently pressed against the fiber preform (1, 23, 37). On the device side, it is claimed that an elastic coating (3) is arranged on the fiber preform (1, 23, 37) and means are provided, which are in operative connection with the elastic coating (3), by which the coating (3) can be widened while forming a gap space (22) between the fiber preform (1, 23, 37) and the coating (3). A matrix material (21) can be fed into the gap space (22) and the coating (3) can be pressed against the fiber preform (1, 23, 37).

  • Patent number: 9047365
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for monitoring the proper functioning of at least one first and a second component (109, 110) of a vehicle drive train (100). The first and the second component (109, 110) each have an effect on the torque applied to the driveshaft (111) and are controlled for this purpose by a test signal (112, 113). The test signals (112, 113) are predetermined such that the effects of the first and the second component (109, 110) onto the torque applied to the driveshaft (111) cancel each other out if the first and the second component (109, 110) function properly. When the components (109, 110) function properly, the traveling comfort is not disturbed by an unexpected torque increase or torque decrease during the carrying out of this method. Any perturbation of the vehicle drive train (100) is therefore also avoided.
