  • Publication number: 20220383257
Abstract: A system, method and program product for handling potentially problematic events in an enterprise computing platform. A method is disclosed that includes: determining whether a received event includes a feature driven folder processing event; in response to a determination that the event is not a feature driven folder processing event, process the event and determine whether a file count for a folder is impacted; in response to the file count being impacted, evaluate the file count relative to a set of processing thresholds to determine which feature driven folder processing events are enabled for the folder, and to update associated metadata for the folder; and in response to a determination that the event is a feature driven folder processing event, using the computing device to check the metadata for an associated folder to determine whether a requested feature is enabled.

  • Patent number: 11442783
Abstract: A system, method and program product for handling potentially problematic events in an enterprise computing platform. A method is disclosed that includes receiving a request to process an event from a client, wherein the event specifies a feature to be performed on an enterprise resource within the enterprise platform. The method further includes retrieving a processing threshold for the feature from a set of stored configuration settings and obtaining metadata associated with the enterprise resource, wherein the metadata indicates an attribute of the enterprise resource. The method then determines whether the attribute of the enterprise resource exceeds the processing threshold, and if so, does not process the event.

  • Patent number: 11201903
Abstract: Techniques are described for synchronizing video of a live event with separately generated metadata relating to the live event. Timing information representing a delay associated with the encoding and packaging pipeline is determined for each origin that produces a set of content streams, and then provided in the form of a synchronization offset in the client manifest for various streaming technologies. The client device requests the metadata, and synchronizes the metadata with content segments using timing information associated with each and the synchronization offset communicated in the manifest.

  • Publication number: 20190295030
Abstract: A method and system of managing vehicle location is disclosed herein. A computing system receives a set of vehicle information associated with a set of vehicles. The computing system receives a set of vehicle accounting information associated with the set of vehicles. The computing system receives, from a telematics device positioned in each vehicle of the set of vehicles, telematics information. For each vehicle in the set of vehicles, the computing system associates vehicle information, accounting, information, and telematics information to generate a database. The computing system generates an application programming interface (API) accessible to a client device. The computing system receives an API call from client device. The computing system generates one or more rules for each vehicle of the set of vehicles. The computing system transmits a notification message to client device upon determining a rule of the one or more rules is violated.

  • Patent number: 9770096
Abstract: A portable table includes a table top that can be transformed into a carrying case, with a handle and a lock and can be used as a table by releasing a pair of lock clips and opening the table at its hinges. The carrying case can hold four telescopic legs, in storing slots, and a shelf on other side of the hinges. The telescopic legs can be used in a table by attaching leg nubs to slots for legs underneath the table top. Each telescopic leg nests two extendible leg pieces, held by a top and a bottom leg clamps, for height adjustment. The leg also has a leg cap at the end for providing non-slip surface. A shelf can be strapped to the telescopic legs for storing accessories by opening the two hexagonal pieces of the shelf and attaching the hooks above the top clamp.

  • Patent number: 9654551
Abstract: An invitation service performs a series of transactions to enable P2P communication between two or more mobile data processing devices. Prior to attempting to establish a P2P network communication channel, the invitation service may first collect network information for each of the mobile devices and use the network information to determine if a direct P2P network communication channel is feasible. If a direct connection is feasible, then the invitation service provides for direct P2P communication, pushing the necessary network information to each of the mobile devices. If a direct connection is infeasible, or an attempted direct connection fails, then the invitation service may identify network information associated with a relay service. The network information may then be used by any pair of mobile devices to establish a connection through the relay service. The invitation service can perform its functions without maintaining per-connection state information for the mobile devices.

  • Publication number: 20160021153
Abstract: A system, computer program, and method for location-based social media interaction between a plurality of participants. The system may receive and store user profiles for participating users and associate two or more participating users with each other allowing sharing of user profile and location information. The system may receive geographic coordinates of the participating users and send map information to participant devices of the participating users. The map information may be used to display icons on a map on the participant devices illustrating geographic locations of some or all of the participating users. The system may also receive a selection of one of the icons on the map from a first participant device and provide directions to a second participant device associated with the selected one of the icons on the map, or directions to a waypoint between the first and second participant devices.

  • Patent number: 9118690
Abstract: An apparatus, method, and machine-readable medium are described for establishing peer-to-peer (“P2P”) communication channels. In particular, in one embodiment, a matchmaker service performs a series of operations to service match requests received from a group of mobile devices. In one embodiment, the matchmaker service groups the match requests into matchable sets based on the application for which the requests are received and one or more variables associated with the application. Match requests within each match set can then be matched based on variables such as the NAT type, connection type and language associated with each of the mobile devices. Other variables such as geographical location, experience level, and age of the match requests may also be used to render match decisions.

  • Patent number: 8730670
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention sets forth a heat spreader module for dissipating thermal heat generated by electronic components. The assembly comprises a printed circuit board (PCB), electronic components disposed on the PCB, a thermal interface material (TIM) thermally coupled to the electronic components, and a heat spreader plate thermally coupled to the TIM. The heat spreader plate includes an embossed pattern. • Patent number: 8517253
Abstract: Disclosed herein are communication systems, methods, and devices for providing communications based on visual markers. An exemplary communication system can include an image receipt unit, an image processing unit, a context processing unit, and an audio output device. The image receipt unit can receive an image of a surrounding area. The image processing unit can extract visual markers from the image. The context processing unit can identify an environmental context based on the visual markers. The communication system can then map the environmental context to a set of potential communication outputs. The communication system can receive a selection of a potential communication output from the user, and the audio output device can audibly output the selected communication output.

  • Patent number: 8396932
Abstract: An apparatus, method, and machine-readable medium are described for managing data within a friend service. In one embodiment, a key/value data store can be used to provide an efficient and highly-scalable friend service database. Various techniques can be used to ensure data consistency between friend service data records. For example, in one embodiment, operations are detected which require updates to a plurality of related friend state records. A key may be generated to represent each of the operations and then used to create an entry in a write-ahead log database. In one embodiment, each entry in the write-ahead log database may specify the operation to be performed on the friend state records. If the plurality of friend state records are successfully updated, then the entry in the write-ahead log database may be deleted. However, if the plurality of friend state records are not successfully completed, then the entry is not deleted from the write-ahead log database.

  • Patent number: 8218223
Abstract: A method is disclosed for controlling switching of an electrochromic device comprising at least the following components: a first and a second electrode layer, a first and a second layer in which ions can be reversibly intercalated, and a transparent ion-conducting layer. At least one of the layers in which ions may be reversibly inserted is electrochromic. The optical properties of the device are modified when a potential is applied between the electrode layers. The potential applied is limited such that the maximum generated potential difference never exceeds the safe redox limits, and that the current does not exceed some predetermined limit. Switching of electrochromic devices in this manner allows for maximum device lifetime, while simultaneously optimising switching speed and transmission homogeneity. The method is characterised in that the potential applied to the electrode layers is varied in the form of a stepped ramp, during which time the current is measured constantly.
