  • Patent number: 4801493
Abstract: This invention relates to coated fiberglass fabrics especially suitable for use as mattress tickings. The fabrics comprise a woven or non-woven fiberglass fabric to which a layer of a polymeric coating composition has been applied. The coating comprises a polymeric carrier containing an effective amount of a fungicide and/or bacteriocide, an effective amount of a flame retardant, and a filler which also functions to enhance the flame retardant properties of the fabric.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 30, 1987
Date of Patent: January 31, 1989
    Assignee: Daniel Ferziger
    Inventors: Daniel Ferziger, Jerry Lippman
  • Patent number: 4677016
Abstract: This application discloses a flame retardant, drapable, and substantially light impermeable fabric suitable for use as a curtain, window shade or the like comprising a tightly woven fiberglass fabric substrate which is coated on at least one surface thereof with one or more layers of a flame retardant foam coating composition. At least one of the foam coating layers is opaque and is comprised of a cured layer of flame retardant polymeric latex foam which renders the fabric substantially impermeable to light and is applied to the surface of the fiberglass substrate in an amount sufficient to make the fabric non-abrasive, abrasion resistant, and the coated fabric sewable and drapable.

  • Patent number: 4439473
Abstract: This application discloses open-cell foam coating compositions and open-cell coated fabrics. The foam coating comprises a fabric substrate and a breathable fine cell foam coating adhered to the substrate wherein the foam coating is comprised of an open cell foam polymer lattice and a hydrophobic material which coats substantially all the surfaces of the polymer lattice and renders the breathable foam coating water repellant and waterproof.
