  • Patent number: 9968502
Abstract: Systems and processes of locating a medical imaging device relative to a person support apparatus and/or a patient are provided. An example system includes an optical sensor disposed at the person support apparatus and/or the imaging device. In embodiments, optical markers may also be disposed on one or more of the medical imaging device, the person support apparatus and/or patient for determining the relative location of the imaging device and the person support apparatus and/or patient. In other embodiments, an optical sensor may use image recognition processes to determine the relative locations. By locating and positioning the medical imaging device without taking recursive medical images to position the device, the imaging device can be positioned for a subsequent image without exposing the patient and healthcare professionals to additional radiation generated while positioning the medical imaging device, thereby reducing risk to the patient and the medical staff.

  • Patent number: 8997749
Abstract: A surgical assembly (20) comprises a post (100) having a longitudinally extending axis (104), a support (56) for resisting movement of the post in a negative longitudinal direction, and a platform (70) offset from the support in a positive longitudinal direction. The platform includes an opening (82) through which the post projects. The opening includes a throat (86). The post has a first dimension which renders the post incapable of passing through the throat and a second dimension which renders the post capable of passing through the throat. Alternate embodiments in which the post can be removably engaged with the support and platform and disengaged therefrom without translating the post in the longitudinal direction are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6065636
Abstract: A convective warmer for flexible plastic bags containing foam precursor chemicals includes an outer housing and an inner enclosure supported within the housing, the inner enclosure having foraminous floor and ceiling plates and foraminous dividers which divide the inner enclosure into vertical compartments for containing vertical stacks of bags. An air space exists between the housing and the inner enclosure, and a forced-air heater is arranged to heat air within the air space and circulate the heated air from the air space, through the foraminous floor plate into the compartments, and out the foraminous ceiling plate back into the air space. A loading door provides access to upper portions of the compartments for loading bags into the warmer, and a dispensing door provides access to lower portions of the compartments for removing a bottommost bag from a stack of bags in the warmer.
