Abstract: Disclosed herein is a system for providing personalized service. The system for providing personalized service includes one or more bio-signal measurement sensors and a service terminal. The bio-signal measurement sensors measure a user's bio-signals and output the measured bio-signals over a communication network. The service terminal establishes a service provision plan based on the bio-signals, measured by the bio-signal measurement sensors, and information about characteristics of use depending on use of service by the user, and providing service.

Abstract: Provided is an apparatus for a home network middleware interoperability service using a home gateway and an OSGi platform and method thereof, the apparatus comprising: a plurality of home network devices in which various types of middlewares are mounted; a home gateway in which a plurality of middleware bundles for supporting the various types of middlewares and an OSGi platform are mounted, and with which information on the home network devices is transferred to an external network; and a service provider connected to the home gateway via an external network and receiving information on the home network devices and downloading to the home gateway the middleware bundles appropriate to the user's home network to provide the middleware interoperability service.

Abstract: Provided is a multi-objective optimization method in a ubiquitous computing environment. The wearable computer includes: a wireless communication unit configured to receive features of condition information and features of service from the outside; a feature collecting unit configured to collect features of condition information according to user's input, and the features of the condition information and the features of the service transmitted from the wireless communication unit; and a computing unit configured to perform the multi-objective optimization by using the features collected through the feature collecting unit in order for optimized user service.

The apparatus includes: a database for storing sensor information, a device profile, a user profile, and ne-media; a user interface for requesting the ne-media to an external ne-media providing server and receiving the corresponding ne-media; a ne-media process unit for dividing the received ne-media into neo-data, media including audio/video/text, synchronization/control information of each device, and identification (ID) information; a ne-media playing unit for playing the divided media; a device control and synchronizing unit for discovering peripheral device information, generating a cooperating device group, generating a synchronization signal, and recording the synchronization signal; and a network managing unit for transmitting the ne-media from the device control and synchronizing unit to a peripheral device play apparatus and a play auxiliary apparatus.

Abstract: A method for connecting personalized devices through a wireless link, a personalized device, and a wireless connection system using the same are provided. In the method, wireless connection information of a plurality of coordinator devices connected to a personalized device through a wireless link up to now is stored and a priority of the coordinator device is decided using the stored connection information. Then, a channel is set to receive connection information, and connection information is received from a coordinator device through the set channel. If the coordinator device transmitting the connection information is the coordinator to connect, the coordinator device is connected. If not, a coordinator device having the next highest priority is decided.

Abstract: A wearable apparatus for converting a vision signal into a haptic signal, an agent system using the same, and an operating method thereof are provided. If a blind person has a vision signal processing module mounted on glasses and a haptic signal processing module wore on a skin, it can be very useful for the blind person because a guide for a white cane and a voice guiding service can be provided through a network. The guide for the white cane is performed by adjusting various heights and vibration intensities of pins of a matrix according to a Y component extracted from an image of surroundings.

To retrieve, compress, and decompress multimedia data, main components of this portable multimedia data input/output processor are comprised of audio codec for compressing and decompressing audio data, video codec controller for compressing and decompressing video data, and multimedia processor for transmitting audio data to wireless communication controller and video data to video codec controller and to graphic processor. The method for retrieving multimedia data includes steps of receiving data, de-interleaving received data into audio, video, and graphic data, decompressing the data, and outputting the data to output device.
