    Abstract: An inductor includes a body including a coil and a magnetic portion, and having two facing principal surfaces and side surfaces adjacent to the two principal surfaces. The coil includes a winding portion formed from a conductor and a pair of extended portions extended from the winding portion. The magnetic portion includes magnetic powder and contains the coil. The winding portion includes a first meandering portion and a second meandering portion each including straight portions continuously formed so as to extend substantially circularly from an outer side to an inner side of the body when the winding portion is seen through the principal surfaces of the body from the principal surfaces. The first and second meandering portions are continuously formed on the inner side of the body. The straight portions constituting the first meandering portion and the straight portions constituting the second meandering portion are disposed apart from each other.

    Abstract: An inductor includes an element containing a magnetic metal powder and a resin, a coil that includes a winding portion and paired extended portions extended from both ends of the winding portion and that is embedded in the element, a pair of an external terminal electrically connected to one of the extended portions and an external terminal electrically connected to the other of the extended portions, and a conductive layer disposed on a surface of the element that crosses the winding axis of the coil. The conductive layer includes a first metal layer formed by fusing together the magnetic metal powder near the surface of the element and a second metal layer formed by plating on the first metal layer. The electrical resistivity of the second metal layer is lower than the electrical resistivity of the first metal layer.

    Abstract: There is provided a wireless power transmitting device which can detect relative positions of a power transmitting coil and a power receiving coil with a simple configuration, and reduce cost of components. The wireless power transmitting device has: a power transmitting coil which supplies power to a power receiving coil by way of electromagnetic induction; an excitation coil which excites the power receiving coil; a plurality of detecting coils which are arranged around a center of the power transmitting coil; and notifying units, and each of the detecting coils has a shape which widens apart from the center of the power transmitting coil, and the notifying units notify relative positions of the power transmitting coil and the power receiving coil by detecting an echo signal produced in the power receiving coil through the plurality of detecting coils.
