    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a material reducing apparatus adapted to be coupled to a vehicle by a pivot arm or other structure. The material reducing apparatus includes a reducing head with rotary reducing component. The reducing head can be titled about a tilt axis relative to the vehicle and can be raised and lowered relative to a vehicle. The reducing head has a thrown object deflector that automatically moves relative to the rotary reducing component when the reducing head is tilted relative to the vehicle.
