    Abstract: Disclosed are a hydraulic binder composition using rapidly-cooled steelmaking reduced slag powder and a method of preparing the same. More particularly, the rapidly-cooled steelmaking reduced slag (RC-LFS) powder is obtained by spraying and scattering gas at a high pressure and high speed onto electric furnace smelting reduction slag, which is one of the by-products generated during iron smelting performed in an ironworks, and quickly cooling and pulverizing the slag. The initial high hydration heat reaction and initial setting of the rapidly-cooled steelmaking reduced slag (RC-LFS) powder are delayed to ensure workability. A retardant and gypsum are mixed into the rapidly-cooled steelmaking reduced slag (RC-LFS) powder so as to activate the generation of needle-shaped ettringite and to thus develop the initial and long-term strength, and therefore the rapidly-cooled steelmaking reduced slag (RC-LFS) powder of the present invention can be used as a substitute for ordinary Portland cement.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition, including inhibitors for expression or activity of TIP41 protein, for prevention and treatment of cancer. When the liver cancer cell lines, showing resistance to TRAIL, are treated with TIP41 siRNA and TRAIL, apoptosis is induced in cancer cell. The same effect is found in cases of lung cancer and colon cancer with resistance against TRAIL. Moreover, this induction of apoptosis by TIP41 siRNA and TRAIL was confirmed in tumor xenograft, which was injected with Huh7 liver cancer cells and then was subjected to TIP41 siRNA transfection and TRAIL treatment. In addition, it was confirmed through animal experiments in which the tumor size has reduced and apoptosis was induced by treatment with TIP41 siRNA and TRAIL. Of note, MKK7/JNK pathway was confirmed to mediate the apoptosis induced by the application of TIP41 siRNA and TRAIL. The apoptosis were verified to be caused by the activation of MKK7/JNK signaling pathway.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein are a pharmaceutical composition for inhibiting the growth or metastasis of cholangiocarcinoma, comprising a L1CAM activity inhibitor or expression suppressor and a treatment method using the composition. This is based on the finding that L1CAM is overexpressed on cholangiocarcinoma and plays an important role in the growth and metastasis of cholangiocarcinoma and the mortality of cholangiocarcinoma patients increases as the expression rate of L1CAM increases. Also, antibodies inhibitory of the activity of L1CAM, or siRNAs suppressing the expression of L1CAM, are found to reduce the growth and invasion of cholangiocarcinoma cells. Mouse monoclonal antibodies, recognizing the L1CAM protein on the cholangiocarcinoma cell surface and binding specifically to cholangiocarcinoma tissues, or siRNAs, antisense oligonucleotides or shRNAs, may be useful in the treatment of cholangiocarcinoma by inhibiting the growth, invasion and migration of cholangiocarcinoma cell.
