  • Patent number: 11774619
Abstract: A logging tool for performing well logging activities in a geologic formation has one or more transmitters, one or more receivers, and a tool wave propagating factor which differs from a formation wave propagating factor. The one or more transmitters excite a tool wave and formation wave. The tool wave is reduced by the one or more transmitters transmitting an acoustic wave which causes the tool wave to be reduced. Additionally, or alternatively, the tool wave is reduced by generating an inverse estimate of the tool wave based on waveform data associated with the tool wave and formation wave received by each of the one or more receivers.

  • Patent number: 11770975
Abstract: Methods, systems and devices are disclosed for controlling self-induced acoustic interference. In one embodiment, a first piezoelectric transducer to which a first excitation signal is applied, generates back side acoustic waves that are transmitted from a back side of the first piezoelectric transducer into a backing material layer. A second piezoelectric transducer coupled to a back side of the backing material layer generates a first calibration response to the back side acoustic waves. An interference signal profile is generated based, at least in part, on the first calibration response and may be used to filter interference signal components and/or to generate a control signal to be applied to the second piezoelectric transducer during measurement cycles.

  • Patent number: 11763311
Abstract: When a user enters a resource provider location with a portable communication device, the portable communication device provides an indication to a transaction processing system that the portable communication device is currently at the resource provider location. At a later time when the user conducts a transaction with a portable transaction device, the fact that the user's portable communication device had been detected at the resource provider a short time ago is taken into account as a positive indicator that the transaction is not fraudulent. By verifying that both the portable communication device and the portable transaction device are present at the resource provider, the risk of approving a fraudulent transaction from a stolen portable transaction device can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 11757662
Abstract: Some embodiments provide systems and methods for confidentially and securely provisioning data to an authenticated user device. A user device may register an authentication public key with an authentication server. The authentication public key may be signed by an attestation private key maintained by the user device. Once the user device is registered, a provisioning server may send an authentication request message including a challenge to the user device. The user device may sign the challenge using an authentication private key corresponding to the registered authentication public key, and may return the signed challenge to the provisioning server. In response, the provisioning server may provide provisioning data to the user device. The registration, authentication, and provisioning process may use public key cryptography while maintaining confidentiality of the user device, the provisioning server, and then authentication server.

  • Patent number: 11733419
Abstract: Ringdown noise can be estimated and removed from a waveform captured by a downhole tool. Ringdown may be estimated by calculating a median of waveforms from a number of tool firings. The estimated ringdown may then be subtracted from a waveform currently being processed. The resulting waveform contains a more accurate representation of a true echo signal reflected from the borehole wall or formation. In some embodiments, the acoustic transducer's deterministic waveform may be learned by statistical analysis of other waveforms near in time to the presently measured waveform. In other embodiments, the deterministic waveform may be learned via previously acquired waveforms now stored in memory, or through predictive waveforms developed in laboratory testing conditions similar to those experienced downhole.
