  • Patent number: 4363858
Abstract: A photoconductive belt for use in an electrophotographic copying machine has extremities thereof joined together in a manner keeping one side of the belt even for smooth movement through electrophotographic processing stations yet avoiding loosening of the joint by backward and forward bendings of the belt in its path in the machine. The joined extremities have end edges formations which mainly interfit yet each comprises lips that extend over the surface of the other extremity, all the lips being at the same side of the belt and being covered by an adhesive strip that joins the extremities together.

  • Patent number: 4077713
Abstract: In copying apparatus utilizing an endless belt to hold electrostatic or powder images and carry them through a station for transfer to a receiving surface, the belt is arranged for movement through a path containing turns where it is engaged by rollers, with some of these rollers contacting its image bearing side, and each roller so contacting the belt is constituted by freely rotatable narrow roller members which contact it only in narrow margins along its opposite edges, so outside the surface regions that usually carry the images. A considerable length of the belt can be held in a close undulating path, as in a compact magazine, by a series of rollers arranged in parallel rows with each roller in one of these rows constituted by such narrow roller members engaging the image bearing side of the belt.

  • Patent number: 4035077
Abstract: A cover device for pressing originals having different thicknesses with equal force against a glass exposure plate of photocopying apparatus comprises a bordering frame swingable between closed and open positions and, inside the frame, a platelike covering member which rests upon supporting elements of the frame when the frame is in open position, presses down upon an original on the exposure plate yet is displaced according to the thickness of the original as the frame is moved to closed position, and is guided from displaced positions to rest again upon said supporting elements as the frame is moved from closed to open position.
