  • Publication number: 20230173509
Abstract: A separator includes a unit that rotates during operation, the unit having a drum and a drive spindle, and an electric drive motor for rotating the drive spindle and having a stator and a rotor. The rotor is arranged on the drive spindle and the stator is radially spaced apart from the rotor in a drive housing that does not rotate during operation. The stator has at least one or multiple winding heads. At least one chamber is formed on at least one of the winding heads, and in this chamber a coolant film or coolant bath forms during operation so that this winding head is cooled by means of coolant during operation.

  • Patent number: 8514365
Abstract: An immersion lithographic apparatus is described with a drain configured to remove liquid from a gap between an edge of the substrate and the substrate table on which the substrate is supported. The drain is provided with a means to provide liquid to the drain irrespective of the position of the substrate table and/or a means to saturate gas within the drain. Those measures reduce the variations in heat load due to evaporation of liquid in the drain.

  • Patent number: 8123667
Abstract: A separator includes a rotatable centrifugal drum having a vertical axis of rotation. The separator includes a rotatable drive spindle to drive the drum, an hydraulic system located in an interior of the drum and at least one feed line to feed a control fluid to the drum, the at least one feed line having an outlet region. Further included is a ring non-rotatably connected to the drum, a gap located between one of the drive spindle and the drum and the drive spindle and the ring. The feed line leads out radially in front of the drive spindle in the outlet region. The outlet region is oriented and configured such that emerging control fluid is spread directly against the drive spindle, and a portion of the control fluid enters through the gap into the hydraulic system.

  • Patent number: 6033356
Abstract: A centrifugal drum (1) has an inlet chamber (12) connected to a discharge chamber (10) via ducts (21), with the supplied fluid flowing radially through rib-free annular chambers (24, 25, 26) on the way to the discharge chamber (10). A through-flow resistance is thereby generated which ensures that the inlet chamber (12) is filled completely. Since the ducts (21) start in the vicinity of the inlet pipe (8), the acceleration of the supplied fluid to the speed of rotation of the centrifugal drum (1) occurs over a small diameter with the result that the stress on the centrifuged material is relatively low.

  • Patent number: 5865719
Abstract: A self-emptying centrifuge drum has a collecting channel for emptying the drum and a fitting for introducing water into the collecting channel. The drum is rotatable and is hydraulically actuatable by water introduced into the collecting channel through the fitting. The collecting channel rotates with the drum about an axis of rotation and the fitting is stationary and has at least one outlet. A baffle extends up from below the collecting channel and between the collecting channel and the fitting and has a lower portion below the collecting channel and an upper portion extending into an area radially inward of the collecting channel with respect to the axis of rotation. The at least one outlet of the fitting is aimed at the lower portion of the baffle.

  • Patent number: 5848959
Abstract: A mechanism for driving a centrifuge drum has a shaft housing and a vertical transmission shaft having an upper end on which a centrifuge drum is mountable. Upper and lower bearings mount the shaft for rotation in the shaft housing. A wheel is mounted on the shaft for rotation therewith and a drive belt rotates the shaft via the wheel. An oil pool provides an oil mist for lubricating the upper bearing. The lower bearing is immersed in the oil pool and the wheel is mounted on the shaft above the upper bearing.
