  • Patent number: 7156390
Abstract: The invention relates to devices for aligning sheets (1), which are overlapped with an offset and supplied to the device by a stream feeder and which can be transferred to a device (63) that is located downstream, after alignment of the front edge and one lateral edge of the sheets. At least pant of a sheet can be brought to rest on the periphery of an alignment cylinder (62), which is used to align the front edge of the sheet by means of front lay marks located on the periphery of said cylinder. At least one recess is provided on the periphery of the alignment cylinder, which, by the application of a negative pressure to said recess allows at least part of the sheet to be fixed by friction on the periphery of the alignment cylinder, in such a way that in the contact zone, drive forces from said cylinder can be transferred by friction to the sheet. A measuring device (64) determines the offset of a lateral edge of the sheet in relation to a predetermined set alignment.

  • Patent number: 7040231
Abstract: Tension of a web in a rotary printing press is regulated. The web passes through at least two printing groups in the printing press. A change in the extension of the web during the print run is determined based on a phase shift between a first phase position of a printing group and a second phase positioned measured after a last printing group. The change in phase position is compensated for by a change in the web tension prior to the first printing group.

  • Patent number: 6957943
Abstract: The invention relates to a stacking device for a machine for processing sheets, especially a sheet printing machine. Said device can be displaced between a first stacking position (02) and a second stacking position (03), and comprises carriers for a pallet receiving the stacked sheets in the first stacking position (02) and the second stacking position (03). The inventive device also comprises transport units (14, 16, 18) for transporting the pallets (09, 21) from each stacking position (02, 03) to a single pile of pallets (11), and for stacking the pallets (12, 19) in the pile of pallets (11).

  • Patent number: 6901855
Abstract: Faulty useful units printed on a sheet of useful units are separated from the acceptable useful units. A first cutting device cuts the sheet into a plurality of longitudinal strips, each of which contains several of the useful units. A quality control device detects the faulty useful units prior to a second cutting device that cuts the strips into individual units. A filtering unit is placed between the two cutting units and filters out strips with one or more faulty units. Strips with no faulty units replace the filtered out faulty unit strips. This simplifies further processing of the strips.

  • Publication number: 20040161330
Abstract: A pallet includes a support plate that is provided with supporting projections which are arranged on a main or primary side of the support plate, which is configured as a supporting surface that is intended for bearing a load. These projections are tapered toward free ends. The projections facilitate stacking of plural pallets spaced from each other either at a small spacing distance or at a large spacing distance. Recesses are formed on a secondary side of the support plate, opposite the supporting surface. These recesses receive the free ends of the projections.
