The method for supporting the catalyst system of the invention provides for a metallocene catalyst and alumoxane activator supported on a porous support using a total volume of catalyst solution that is less than that of which a slurry is formed. The metallocene and alumoxane aer mixed in solution, then the solution is added to a porous support in a volume between the total pore volume of the support and the volume at which a slurry forms.
