Patent number: 7106479Abstract: The present invention provides systems and methods for enhancing the delivery and display of medical images over a network. Authorized users may access and view images by accessing a secure server and selecting images for viewing. Various characteristics of the image or images being viewed may be manipulated. Additionally, measuring devices, such as a goniometer, may be placed on an image to measure distances, angles and the like. In one embodiment, one or more templates, for example of medical devices, may be placed on an image and manipulated. In another embodiment, two or more users may view the same image simultaneously, while also viewing a template, measuring device, image manipulations and the like simultaneously. In yet another embodiment, two or more users may discuss one or more images via a discussion board.Type: GrantFiled: October 10, 2001Date of Patent: September 12, 2006Assignee: Stryker CorporationInventors: Stephen C. Roy, John D. Hodgeman

Publication number: 20040026859Abstract: The present invention provides major improvements with respect to a paper football game piece. The football may be formed using a sheet of paper folded into the desired triangular shape. A region of the paper is printed and embossed to simulate the bumpy texture inherent of cowhide or pigskin football leather, football laces, and one or more team logos. The same region may also be impregnated with a leather fragrance that when scratched may omit a desired scent such as a football leather scent.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 7, 2003Publication date: February 12, 2004Inventor: John D. Patent number: 6235031Abstract: An intramedullary fracture fixation device is provided which includes an intramedullary rod, a lag screw and a lag screw collar. The rod has a proximal end with a transverse bore extending therethrough. The lag screw has a distal end with coarse bone engaging thread elements and a proximal end with screw threads. When in use, the lag screw is substantially axially aligned with the transverse bore of the rod. The lag screw collar has an outer diameter sized to rotatably fit within the transverse bore of the rod. The collar also has an inner diameter and internal screw threads adapted to cooperate with the screw threads of the proximal end of the lag screw. The lag screw collar may have an increased outer diameter at one end thereof which is at least slightly larger than a diameter of the transverse bore of the rod. The device preferably includes a longitudinal bore which extends through the proximal end of the rod so as to open into the transverse bore.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 2000Date of Patent: May 22, 2001Assignee: Encore Medical CorporationInventors: John D.
