Abstract: Ester and amides having the formula ##STR1## wherein R, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are independently lower alkyl or cycloalkyl groups, R.sup.3 is hydrogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkylene, phenyl, phenyl substituted by alkyl groups, alkylthioethyl, thiobis-alkylene, alkyleneoxyalkylene, polyoxyalkylene or a polyvalent cyclic or acyclic hydrocarbon radical, R.sup.4 is hydrogen, lower alkyl, cycloalkyl, R.sup.5 is hydrogen, alkyl, phenyl, phenyl substituted by alkyl groups, alkylene, a polyvalent cyclic or acyclic hydrocarbon radical or alkyleneoxy-alkylene, A is lower alkylene, m is 1 to 4 and n is 1 to 6.The esters are prepared by usual esterification procedures from a suitable alcohol and an acid of the formula III ##STR2## or an acid halide or acid anhydride thereof. The higher alkyl esters can also be prepared from the lower alkyl ester, especially the methyl ester, by transesterification with a higher alkanol or polyol.

Abstract: The compounds are 2,3,5-trialkylsubstituted hydroxy benzyl isocyanurates having the formula ##STR1## where R.sub.a is a 2,3,5-trialkylsubstituted hydroxybenzyl group of the formula II or hydrogen, and R.sub.b is a 2,3,5-trialkylsubstituted hydroxybenzyl group of formula II ##STR2## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are alkyl or cycloalkyl groups, and R.sup.3 is hydrogen or alkylOne method for making the compounds of this invention is by reacting a 2,3,6-trialkyl-4-(dimethylamino)phenol with cyanuric acid.The compounds are useful as stabilizers of organic materials, especially polyolefins, which deteriorate upon exposure to light and heat.

Abstract: Esters of polyalkyleneglycols with 3,5-dialkyl-4-hydroxyphenylalkanoic acids were prepared by simple esterification techniques. An example of such compounds is methoxytriethyleneglycol 3-(3',5'-di-t-butyl-4'-hydroxyphenyl)propionate. These compounds are useful as stabilizers of organic substrates subject to oxidative and thermal degradation.

Abstract: Organic polymeric materials normally subject to oxidative and ultraviolet light deterioration are stabilized by incorporating therein a nickel 3,5-bis-dialkyl-4-hydroxybenzoate, an ultraviolet light absorber such as benzophenone or a benzotriazole, and optionally a primary phenolic antioxidant with or without a secondary sulfur containing antioxidant.

Abstract: Organic polymeric materials normally subject to oxidative and ultraviolet light deterioration are stabilized by incorporating therein a nickel bis-3,5-dialkyl-4-hydroxybenzoate, an ultraviolet light absorber such as a benzophenone or a benzotriazole, a light stabilizer such as a p-hydroxybenzoate ester and optionally a primary phenolic antioxidant with or without a secondary sulfur containing antioxidant.
