  • Patent number: 10848109
Abstract: A power amplifier circuit for broadband data communication over a path in a communication network can reduce or avoid gain compression, provide low distortion amplification performance, and can accommodate a wider input signal amplitude range. A dynamic variable bias current circuit can be coupled to a differential pair of transistors to provide a dynamic variable bias current thereto as a function of input signal amplitude. Bias current is increased when input signal amplitude exceeds a threshold voltage established by an offset or level-shifting circuit. The frequency response of the bias current circuit can track the full frequency content of the input signal, rather than its envelope. Gain degeneration can be modulated in concert with the bias current modulation to stabilize amplifier gain.

  • Patent number: 10810777
Abstract: A GPU receives an image comprising an array of pixels. The image depicts features in a field of an object on a background. The features and the background contrasting with the object field, and at least a portion of the object is at the center of the image. In parallel for each particular pixel of a first plurality of the pixels, the GPU sets the color value of the particular pixel to the lightest color value of a second plurality of the pixels substantially along a line outward from the particular pixel toward an edge of the image. The line can be defined by the particular pixel and the image center.

  • Publication number: 20200188009
Abstract: A method for the selective elevation and separation of tissues comprised of multiple layers and a surgical instrument for performing the method. The method may be performed without the requirement of a solid mechanical device insertion or transection through the mucosal layer. In particular, the method and surgical instrument may be used for the selected separation and/or resection of selected portions of benign or malignant tissues (e.g. defining tissue planes, polyp elevation and removal, submucosal tissue tunnelling, endoscopic mucosa resection, etc).

  • Publication number: 20200051028
Abstract: A document collaboration system allows applications to collaborate on a binary data file even if the binary data file is not in a collaborative document format. In response to a request from an application to access a binary data file, the document collaboration system gives the application access to a document model corresponding to the binary data file and the application If the document model does not already exist, it may be created by generating an empty document model, transmitting the binary data file to the application, and allowing the application to fill in the empty document model based on the binary data file. The document model may be provided to and modified by its related application through an application programming interface (API), and changes to the document model may be applied to the binary data file.

  • Publication number: 20200026594
Abstract: ABSTRACT A system and method for real-time detection of anomalies in database or application usage is disclosed. Embodiments provide a mechanism to detect anomalies in database or application usage, such as data exfiltration attempts, first by identifying correlations (e.g., patterns of normalcy) in events across different heterogeneous data streams (such as those associated with ordinary, authorized and benign database usage, workstation usage, user behavior or application usage) and second by identifying deviations/anomalies from these patterns of normalcy across data streams in real-time as data is being accessed. An alert is issued upon detection of an anomaly, wherein a type of alert is determined based on a characteristic of the detected anomaly.

  • Publication number: 20190366334
Abstract: The present technology provides spontaneous capillary flow devices for patterning walls on a hydrophilic substrate. In some embodiments, the devices include rails having a first end portion for receiving a flowable material, a second end portion opposite the first end portion, and a base portion having a flow surface extending between the first end portion and the second end portion. The flow surface can face the hydrophilic substrate and define a flow path. When the flowable material is released into the first end portion, the flowable material flows via spontaneous capillary flow from the first end portion to the second end portion along the flow path to create a partition on the hydrophilic substrate.

Abstract: A power amplifier circuit for broadband data communication over a path in a communication network can reduce or avoid gain compression, provide low distortion amplification performance, and can accommodate a wider input signal amplitude range. A dynamic variable bias current circuit can be coupled to a common emitter bias node of a differential pair of transistors to provide a dynamic variable bias current thereto as a function of an input signal amplitude of an input signal. Bias current is increased when input signal amplitude exceeds a threshold voltage established by an offset or level-shifting circuit. The frequency response of the bias current circuit can track the frequency content of the input signal. A delay in the signal path to the differential pair can phase-align the bias current to the amplification by the differential pair. A dynamic variable supply voltage can be based on an envelope of the input signal.

  • Publication number: 20190115876
Abstract: Techniques for monitoring a distortion signal of a power amplifier circuit, where the output of a distortion monitoring circuit includes little or no fundamental signal and closely represents the actual distortion of the amplifier circuit of a wired communications system. The power amplifier circuit can generate a distortion feedback signal that does not affect the power amplifier's output power capability, e.g., no inherent loss in the fundamental output of the amplifier. That is, using a distortion monitor circuit, the power amplifier circuit can resolve a distortion feedback signal from the intended output signal of the output power amplifier circuit.

  • Publication number: 20160352727
Abstract: An asset management system and biometric security method is disclosed. The asset management system monitors the operational status of living and non-living assets in the field using sensors fitted to, or otherwise associated with, the asset. The operational status of the asset includes proof of life and indications as to the death or destruction. Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals from living assets may be enrolled in a biometric system at one or more heart rates to permit the identification or authentication of the living asset. ECG signal assessments may be used to increase system performance.
