  • Patent number: 10326826
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for migrating a computer application from an entity's premises to a web services platform. Data from multiple sources on the entity's premises is gathered and normalized into a common format. The normalized data is used to create a topology of the network on the entity's premises. This topology is analyzed to determine whether a computer application executing on the entity's premises may be migrated to the web service platform.

  • Patent number: 10296734
Abstract: An apparatus for enrollment and verification of a user comprising one touch two factor biometric sensors. An enrollment process creates the baseline abstract identity information for the user. Subsequent verification processes capture new abstract identity information to be matched to the baseline on an encrypted server. A first camera takes a first surface image of a portion of a user's finger to capture the pattern of friction ridges and valleys and intersection points. A second camera takes a second subsurface image of a vein map below the surface of the user's finger. These are then fused into a binary format that cannot be reversed to reacquire either the fingerprint or the vein map. The enrollment data and the verification data are then compared to each other in order to determine if they match for authentication of the user.

  • Patent number: 10288618
Abstract: The present invention describes methods for screening for cancer in a subject, by measuring the level of dimeric IL-18 in a sample obtained from the subject, and comparing that level with the level in a normal control sample. The present invention also describes an assay for screening for cancer in a subject, by measuring the level of dimeric IL-18 in a sample obtained from the subject, whereby an elevated level of dimeric IL-18 is indicative of cancer.

  • Publication number: 20190114735
Abstract: Techniques for providing enhanced graphics in a user interface by efficiently using enhanced graphics resources. A computing device displays the enhanced graphics in an upper view of the user interface and the enhanced graphics resources identify a visual region in which the enhanced graphics are positioned. The computing device accesses the enhanced graphics resources to identify and store a hit test region based on the visual region. The hit test region is stored separately from the enhanced graphics resources for hit testing. When a hit is received in the user interface, the computing device determines whether the upper view or lower view will respond to the hit based on the hit test region that is stored separately from the enhanced graphics resources.

  • Publication number: 20190086304
Abstract: An on-demand vapour generator includes a vapour chamber configured to produce a vapour and a vapour absorption assembly configured to receive flows of vapour from the vapour chamber. The vapour absorption assembly includes a first vapour-permeable passage having a passage outlet and at least one second vapour-permeable passage that is closed. When vapour absorption assembly receives a flow of vapour from the vapour chamber, the flow of vapour passes through the first vapour-permeable passage to the passage outlet at least substantially without absorption of vapour from the flow of vapour. However, when a flow of vapour is not received from the vapour chamber, vapour entering the vapour absorption assembly from the vapour chamber passes into the first vapour-permeable passage and the at least one second vapour-permeable passage and is at least substantially absorbed.
