  • Patent number: 11747341
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method of analyzing a sample comprising a hydrophobic molecule. The method includes preparing an aqueous solution comprising the sample. The method also includes placing the solution in contact with a polypropylene substrate having a deactivated surface that reduces adsorption of the hydrophobic molecule relative to a polypropylene substrate that has not been deactivated. The method also includes analyzing the sample.

  • Publication number: 20230251287
Abstract: A probe array having decoupled electrical and mechanical design constraints on the probes is provided. Each probe is a two-part structure with the two parts able to stay in electrical contact with each other as the parts slide up and down with respect to each other. The probes are disposed in through holes of an elastic matrix, each probe having its corresponding hole. The probes engage with the elastic matrix such that a restoring force in response to vertical probe compression is provided by the elastic matrix. With this approach, electrical and mechanical design are much more decoupled than in conventional spring probe design. The elastic matrix provides the mechanical compliance and restoring force, while the parts of the probe determine its current carrying capacity and electrical bandwidth.

  • Patent number: 11702296
Abstract: A conveying system is disclosed. The conveying system may have a first conveying apparatus that conveys a first article to a first location. The conveying system may also have a second conveying apparatus that conveys a second article to a second location. The conveying system may have a frame, a chute connected to the frame, and a third conveying apparatus. The chute may convey the first article received from the first conveying apparatus to a discharge location. The third conveying apparatus, disposed below the chute, may convey the second article received from the second conveying apparatus to the discharge location. The chute may be movable relative to the to the third conveying apparatus, such that the first or second article may be selectively conveyed to the discharge location via the chute or third conveying apparatus, depending on the position of the chute relative to the third conveying apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20230136865
Abstract: A method of operating a combustor of a turbomachine on a total fuel input that contains a concentration of hydrogen that is greater than about 80% is provided. The method includes injecting a first mixture of air and a first fuel containing a first amount of hydrogen into the primary combustion zone of the combustor to generate a first flow of combustion gases having a first temperature. The method further includes injecting, with one or more premix injectors disposed downstream of the fuel nozzles, a second mixture of air and a second fuel containing a second amount of hydrogen into the secondary combustion zone of the combustor to generate a second flow of combustion gases having a second temperature. The method further includes separately injecting a third fuel into secondary combustion zone to generate a third flow of combustion gases having a third temperature.

  • Publication number: 20230096424
Abstract: Architectures or techniques are presented that can prioritize operating a consumption device in a manner that is efficient in terms of consumption of a resource over satisfying a specified demand assigned to the consumption device. This re-prioritizing can be performed in response to a price of the resource exceeding a threshold.

  • Patent number: 11460191
Abstract: Integrated combustor nozzles and turbomachines are provided. An integrated combustor nozzle includes a cooling insert having a flange. The cooling insert further includes a first wall and a second wall that each define respective passages therein. The first wall and the second wall each extend from an open end defined within the flange to a closed end. The first wall and the second wall each include an impingement side spaced apart from a solid side. Each impingement side defines a plurality of impingement apertures configured to direct coolant from the respective passage towards a side wall of the combustion liner. The cooling inserts further includes a collection passageway that is defined between the solid sides of the first wall and the second wall.
