Abstract: This invention discloses new compounds of the formula ##STR1## WHEREIN R.sup.1 is selected from the group consisting of alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, alkylsulfonyl and alkylsulfinyl; R.sup.2 is selected from the group consisting of alkyl, alkenyl, haloalkyl and ##STR2## wherein R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are each selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and alkyl; X is selected from the group consisting of alkyl and halogen; and n is an integer from 0 to 3. Further disclosed is the herbicidal utility of the foregoing compounds.

Abstract: This invention discloses the compound 1-(5-t-butyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)-3-methyl-5-acetyloxy-1,3-imidazolidin- 2-one and its utility as a herbicide.

The compounds of the foregoing description are useful as herbicides.

Abstract: Disclosed are herbicidal compositions comprising an inert carrier and as an essential active ingredient in a quantity toxic to weeds a compound of the formula ##EQU1## wherein X is selected from the group consisting of alkyl, alkenyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, halogen, haloalkyl and nitro; and n is an integer from 0 to 5.

A method for the control of weeds and fungi which comprises applying to said weeds or fungi a herbicidal or fungicidal composition comprising an inert carrier and, as an essential active ingredient, in a quantity toxic to weeds or fungi, a compound heretofore described.
