  • Publication number: 20070051411
Abstract: A top entry check valve including a valve body with an access port. A compressible hanger body engages a portion of the valve body and is positioned in alignment with the access port of the valve body. A clapper is connected to the hanger body so that the clapper is movable between a closed position wherein the clapper engages a valve seat to occlude the passage of fluid through the fluid flow passage and an open position wherein the clapper is moved away from the valve seat to permit passage of fluid through the fluid flow passage. A closure member is connected to the valve body to close the access port of the valve body. The closure member has an abutment surface engaging the hanger body so that the hanger body is compressed between the closure member and the valve body.

  • Publication number: 20050269542
Abstract: A bearing retainer for a valve having an internally mounted stem and valve member with a trunnion and a bearing positioned thereabout is disclosed. The bearing retainer has a retainer body having a bearing receiving opening extending from a first side to an opposed second side and a stem receiving slot formed in the first side thereof in open communication with the bearing receiving opening. The retainer body is disposable about the bearing, and the retainer body is configured such that the retainer body is rotatable about the trunnion upon the valve member, the bearing, and the bearing retainer being positioned in the valve chamber with the stem engaged with the valve member.

  • Publication number: 20050205826
Abstract: A seat assembly extending about an inlet passage of a valve and engaging a valve member is disclosed. The seat assembly includes an annular seat carrier having an annular groove formed therein, and a seat positioned in and extending from the annular groove of the seat carrier. The seat has an inner side, an outer side, and a plurality of spaced apart, concentric seal rings extending from the inner side of the seat to the outer side thereof. The seal ring nearest the inner side of the seat is engageable with the valve member to provide an innermost seal when the seat assembly is acted upon by a pressure within a pressure range and the seal ring nearest the inner side of the seat is deflectable in a radially outward direction and out of sealing engagement with the valve member when the pressure exceeds the pressure range to cause the adjacent seal ring to provide the innermost seal.
