Publication number: 20240110893Abstract: A pathogen detection method. A sample that potentially contains a pathogen is collected. A triangle wave form output is produced. A signal associated with the triangle wave form is transmitted from a voltage-controlled oscillator over a plurality of frequencies. The signal is transmitted through the sample to cause the pathogen in the sample to vibrate at a frequency. The vibrations from the sample are detected. A resonance profile of a pathogen in the sample is calculated based upon the vibrations. A database that includes a resonance profile signature of at least one pathogens is provided. The calculated resonance profile is compared to the resonance profile signature database to determine if the sample includes the pathogen.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 4, 2023Publication date: April 4, 2024Inventors: Timothy Childs, John Geddes, Daniel C. Eller, Jerry W. Cole, Kalyani Mantha, Manish Saka

Patent number: 6988122Abstract: The present invention provides a method of transferring incoming multithreaded concurrent sets of data from a sending transport system to a requesting transport system which includes retrieving the sets of data from the sending transport system. A receiving queue is queried for a number of available data storage locations, and the sets of data being transferred to the receiving queue. The method further includes queuing the sets of data in the receiving queue, where each the set of data are divided into blocks of data. Then, determining a number of the data storage locations for storing the blocks of data. Next, the blocks of data are loaded into available data storage locations, and location indexes are provided for each of the blocks of data where the location indexes associate the block of data with a corresponding the storage location.Type: GrantFiled: January 9, 2001Date of Patent: January 17, 2006Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventor: John W. Patent number: 5435307Abstract: A method of optimizing photodynamic therapy in which retained concentrations of photosensitizers administered are measured on a real time basis by percutaneous measurements of fluorescence. A light weight hand held fluorometer is used to percutaneously measure fluorescence emitted by photosensitizers in a tissue situs that is subject to photodynamic therapy. The use of real time determinations of the concentration of photosensitizers allow optimization of illumination intensity and duration.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 1991Date of Patent: July 25, 1995Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human ServicesInventors: Walter S. Patent number: 4461473Abstract: Weightlifting apparatus, especially for performing curling exercises, includes a rectangularly shaped frame having weights mounted on opposite extremities thereof. Gripping handles are secured to and disposed within a pair of spaced apart rings which are rotatably mounted within the frame. A cable trained around and interconnecting the rings synchronizes the rotation of the handles. A spring interconnecting the rings applies a biasing force resisting rotation of the handles.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 1982Date of Patent: July 24, 1984Assignees: John Cole, Steve ShukInventor: John W. Patent number: 4268398Abstract: A sludge agitating method includes a support platform attached to pontoons for floating on a body of water, such as a waste water treatment facility lagoon, a paddle wheel, and a paddle wheel drive train for moving the platform across the surface of the water, an air distribution pipe, including a plurality of air outlets, movable in a vertical direction into and out of the lagoon, and an air compressor positioned atop the support platform and having an air outlet hose coupled to the air distribution pipe. The air distribution pipe is attached to the ends of two slide members which are attached to one end of the support platform. Initially, with the air distribution pipe positioned slightly below the top layer of sludge, as pressurized air is delivered to the air distribution pipe, the surrounding sludge is agitated and mixed with the surface water.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 1979Date of Patent: May 19, 1981Inventors: William D. Shuck, Frederick D. Lind, John W. Cole

Patent number: 3955611Abstract: An awning construction particularly adapted for mounting on a mobile home. The awning includes an awning shade having one end fixed to an outside wall of the mobile home, and the other end of the awning shade is attached to an awning roller, which roller is pivotedly connected to the same outside wall. The awning roller includes an elongated torque rod which is nonrotatably connected to a pair of support arms. The support arms are pivotedly connected to the outside wall. A tube is rotatably mounted on the torque rod and is secured to the other end of the awning shade. A torsion spring connects the torque rod with the tube to rotate the tube relative to the torque rod and holds the tube up against the wall of the mobile home in its normal condition. A lock releasably locks the tube relative to the torque rod to allow the tube to stay selectively in an extended position away from the side wall.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 1970Date of Patent: May 11, 1976Assignee: C & K Sales CorporationInventors: John W.
