The component includes a body and a pair of rotatable plugs which sit within a cylinder of the body. One plug is connected to a handle and the other is connected to a lock release mechanism. A bridge selectively connects and releases the first and second plugs and an actuator, cooperating with biasing devices, is used to determine whether the bridge is in a connecting or releasing condition. This is in turn determines whether the component is acting to operate the lock in a locked or an unlocked condition.

A method of handling requests from proxy and non-proxy client connections in a telecommunications network by redirecting requests from unauthenticated proxy clients to a transparent proxy port on a captive portal such that the captive portal proxies the requests is also disclosed. The request may be directed to a service, such as a destination IP address and optional port number. A method for a proxy server to identify an edge session through an out-of-band request containing proxy metadata to a web portal for secure (HTTPS) requests is also disclosed. The edge session is identified for the web portal through a hostkey determined by the proxy server.

The method involves analyzing a sample, such as a urine sample, containing protein from an animal for fragments of ?2-microglobulin, wherein the presence of specific ?2-microglobulin fragments is indicative of kidney dysfunction and transplant rejection. In another embodiement, urine samples from an animal are tested for protease activity, such as cathepsin D or napsin A, wherein increased protease activity compared to a control sample is indicative of kidney dysfunction.
