This filter body has a density of from about 10 to about 25 grams per cubic inch, a compressive strength of at least about 500 pounds per square inch, a pressure drop of from about 5 to about 20 inches, a water pickup of at least about 11 weight percent, and an initial 24-hour water pickup of at least about 6 weight percent.
