  • Patent number: 10427345
Abstract: Process for continuous fabrication of highly aligned polymer films. A polymer-solvent solution is subjected to a high shear, high temperature, Couette flow to extrude a thin film having polymer chain disentanglement. The extruded thin film is frozen and the solvent is allowed to evaporate to form a dried film. The dried film is mechanically drawn using a constant force, adaptive-thickness drawing system to align polymer molecular chains through plastic deformation. A suitable polymer is ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene.

  • Patent number: 10430220
Abstract: Software emulations of physical devices allow protocol neutral communications between heterogeneous operating systems. Within a computing node of a storage cluster, a logical communications cut-through device connects a guest operating system to a front end adapter and enables the guest operating system to perform operations on an allocated portion of computing node memory without hypervisor intervention. The cut-through device may implement an industry standard memory-mapped interface, thereby enabling a guest operating system to discover the cut-through device and obtain access to memory that is shared with the hypervisor and/or another guest OS. Moreover, if guest OSs and/or the hypervisor share any communications protocol then the channel may be utilized at memory speeds. This may be advantageous in symmetric multiprocessing environments in which multiple guest OSs can have core affinities.

  • Patent number: 10431116
Abstract: Techniques for leveraging the capabilities of wearable mobile technology to collect data and to provide real-time feedback to an orator about his/her performance and/or audience interaction are provided. In one aspect, a method for providing real-time feedback to a speaker making a presentation to an audience includes the steps of: collecting real-time data from the speaker during the presentation, wherein the data is collected via a mobile device worn by the speaker; analyzing the real-time data collected from the speaker to determine whether corrective action is needed to improve performance; and generating a real-time alert to the speaker suggesting the corrective action if the real-time data indicates that corrective action is needed to improve performance, otherwise continuing to collect data from the speaker in real-time. Real-time data may also be collected from members of the audience and/or from other speakers (if present) via wearable mobile devices.

  • Patent number: 10432676
Abstract: Non-limiting examples disclosed herein describe processing capabilities for ad-hoc online meetings. In an implementation, an identifier is received that corresponds with a specific location. A proximity signal is received from one or more components associated with the specific location. The received proximity signal comprises one of: a modulated light signal, an audible sound, an inaudible sound and ambient noise. The identifier is validated based on a comparison of the proximity signal with a reference signal for the one or more components. A service identifier for a conferencing session is provided based on a validation of the identifier. In one example, a computing device is connected to the conference session based on receipt of a request that comprises the provided service identifier. In another example, the conference session is automatically transferred from a client computing device to a component associated with the specific location such as a room display device.

  • Patent number: 10429445
Abstract: A method and system for providing charging information to a user of wearable device by predicting when a health sensor is needed most during the course of the day and cross-referencing that information with a user's personal calendar in order to determine the optimal time to charge the wearable device. Battery life of the wearable device may be monitored. Information may be stored in memory regarding sensor data detected by one or more sensors and associated with a time. One or more time slots may be identified during which the sensor data was lacking. The identified time slots may be compared against a calendar of available time to identify matching time slots. A next matching time slot may be determined, and a notification may be displayed on a display screen of the wearable device to recommend that the user charge the wearable device at the determined next matching time slot.

  • Patent number: 10432608
Abstract: Disclosed are various examples of selectively enabling multi-factor authentication for applications on managed devices. An identity provider receives an authentication request for a first client application executed in a managed client device. The authentication request includes a first authentication factor corresponding to a management credential. The identity provider then determines whether one or more second authentication factors should be requested. If so, the identity provider then requests the second authentication factor(s) from a second client application. The identity provider receives the second authentication factor(s) from the second client application. The identity provider then authenticates the first client application in response to verifying the first authentication factor and the second authentication factor(s).

  • Patent number: 10431208
Abstract: Techniques are described herein for optimizing the presentation of content through obtaining viewership metrics, generating multiple renditions of presentations of content, and selecting optimized renditions of content. One aspect includes associating a request for viewership metrics with a presentation of content, publishing the presentation of content, and receiving information of the viewership metrics associated with the presentation. Another aspect includes copying a presentation of a content item, creating a second presentation of the content item for publishing over one or more channels, and linking the presentation of the content item to the second presentation of the content item, such that a change to one propagates to the other of the presentation of the content item or the second presentation of the content item. In yet another aspect, a content rendition may be selected for presentation based on performance of the rendition out of multiple renditions in an auction.

  • Patent number: 10433272
Abstract: In embodiments of distributed coordination of mesh network configuration updates, pending commissioning datasets are managed and distributed to coordinate configuration changes of parameters that control participation in, and secure communication over, a mesh network. Pending network commissioning datasets are managed across fragmentation of the mesh network into multiple partitions and subsequent merging of the fragments to ensure that the most recent updates to pending commissioning datasets are propagated to mesh network devices and that all mesh network devices will receive pending commissioning datasets before the time that the pending commissioning dataset becomes the active commissioning dataset for the mesh network.

  • Patent number: 10430073
Abstract: A processing device having a graphical user interface includes a housing having a touch screen display that receives touch gesture commands from a vehicle operator. Still further, a set of controls is arranged on a front face of the housing. The set of controls include hardware control equivalents to the gesture commands recognized by the touch screen of the display. This allows industrial vehicle operators to wear gloves or other attire fitting for the task at hand, without undue interference interacting with the graphical user interface. Also, redundant control, e.g., via gesture commands recognized by the touch screen of the display and corresponding controls in the user control section, allow the vehicle operator to use which ever data input option is most convenient for speed, convenience, workflow, etc.
