Abstract: A method for post-processing to synchronize audio data with vehicle data includes generating an artificial sound data based on time-series vehicle data. The method includes determining an offset that maximizes cross-correlation between the artificial sound data and recorded audio data. The method also includes shifting one or more of the time-series data and the recorded audio data relative to each other in time based on the offset. The shift may be used to generate or render a synchronized set of time-series data and recorded audio data.

  • Publication number: 20190287199
Abstract: A computer apparatus, such as a validator node, for validating data records in a distributed electronic ledger may be configured to receive a proposed data record submitted by an originating agent of an originating agency to a distributed ledger. In response to the proposed incident-related data record, other agents within the originating agency may, based on validation criteria, submit one or more responsive data records that may provide information for use in determining a validity of the proposed incident-related data record. Validator nodes hosted by external agencies may submit validation responses relative to a validity of the proposed incident-related data record. The system may determine that the proposed data record is valid. Based a consensus algorithm, the system may responsively append the proposed data record or an indication of validity to the distributed ledger or to a different distributed ledger.

  • Publication number: 20190282937
Abstract: Methods of filtering a liquid feed are disclosed. In one version, the method comprises passing a liquid feed through a single pass tangential flow filtration (SPTFF) system and recovering the retentate and permeate from the system in separate containers without recirculation through the SPTFF system. In another version, the method of filtering a liquid feed, comprises passing a liquid feed through a tangential flow filtration (TFF) system, recovering permeate and a portion of the retentate from the system in separate containers without recirculation through the TFF system, and recirculating the remainder of the retentate through the TFF system at least once. The methods can be performed using an SPTFF or a TFF system that comprises manifold segments to serialize the flow path of the feed and retentate without requiring diverter plates.

  • Publication number: 20190286705
Abstract: Utilizing a computing device to detect and respond to emotion in dialog systems. The computing device receives a dialog structure comprising a plurality of dialog nodes. The computing device determines a node emotion level for each of the dialog nodes in the dialog structure based on analysis of one or more intents of each of the dialog nodes in the dialog structure. The computing device determines emotional hotspot nodes in the dialog structure, the node emotion level for each of the emotional hotspot nodes exceeding an emotional threshold. The computing device generates one or more responses modifying the node emotion level of each of the emotional hotspot nodes.

  • Publication number: 20190284564
Abstract: Nonnaturally occurring host cells altered to increase their ability to transfer genetic molecules into the host cells as compared to an unaltered host cell are provided. Also provided are methods for identifying endogenous loci of a host cell which inhibit transformation efficiency and/or electroporation of genetic molecules into the cell as well as methods for producing nonnaturally occurring host cells with enhanced transformation efficiency and/or the modified ability to allow for genomic integration of an exogenous DNA sequence via electroporation. Methods for producing biochemicals and products produced with the nonnaturally occurring host cells are also provided. In particular, a host Cupriavidus necator cell is provided in which a chromosomal gene encoding a restriction endonuclease has been disrupted, leading to an increase in transformation efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20190287018
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for generating training data for training a classifier to assign nodes of a taxonomy graph to items based on item descriptions. Each node has a label. For each item, the system identifies for that item one or more candidate paths within the taxonomy graph that are relevant to that item. The system identifies the candidate paths based on content of the item description of that item matching labels of nodes. A candidate path is a sequence of nodes starting a root node of the taxonomy graph. For each identified candidate path, the system labels the item description with the candidate path equivalently with leaf node or label of the leaf node. The labeled item descriptions compose the training data for training the classifier.

  • Publication number: 20190282591
Abstract: The human body is mediated by a large number of chemicals and chemical processes where imbalances can result in an abnormal condition that affects part or all of the human body. Amongst these conditions are hair loss and male impotence or erectile dysfunction, both of which can have psychological consequences for the patient and others as they can be tied to relationship difficulties and self-image. 5?-reductase Type II inhibitors prevent DHT production and reduce androgen activity in key tissues such as prostate and scalp. Similarly, an inhibitor of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) specific phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) can lead to improved vasodilation and blood flow. It would be beneficial to provide patients with either of these treatments within a topical cream form allowing localized targeted delivery.
