  • Patent number: 10694251
Abstract: Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for preventing inadvertent viewing of media content for a media program. A processor can detect an inadvertent viewing condition including exposing content for a media program including audio content and video content. The processor can create an alert that indicates the inadvertent viewing condition exists and that includes selectable options for actions to take for the inadvertent viewing condition. The processor can provide the alert to a video display and can further block output of the audio content and the video content to the video display.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 6907247
Abstract: A wireless telecommunications system is provided for connecting to a data link and for routing data packets between the data link and a subscriber terminal. The wireless telecommunications system provides a group of communication channels arranged to utilise a radio resource. The group is shared by a plurality of subscriber terminals. A subscriber controller within the subscriber terminal is arranged, when a data packet is to be transmitted to the data link, to acquire a communication channel from the group to enable that data packet to be transmitted. A resource monitor is then used to receive information concerning traffic loading, and to apply predetermined criteria to determine how long the communication channel may be acquired for by the subscriber terminal before causing the subscriber controller to release the communication channel.

  • Patent number: 6487216
Abstract: The present invention provides a management system and method for a telecommunications system, the telecommunications system having a plurality of objects representing elements of the telecommunications system and/or operations that may be applied to those elements. The management system comprises a management controller connectable to an item of telecommunications equipment of the telecommunications system for passing messages over a communications link between the management controller and a management element of the telecommunications system to invoke management operations. Further, the management system comprises means for defining a number of messages which may be generated by the management controller or the management element for passing over the communications link, each message being arranged to include one or more information elements.

  • Publication number: 20020018462
Abstract: The present invention provides a wireless telecommunications system, subscriber terminal, method and computer program for routing data packets and voice calls between a network and the subscriber terminal of the wireless telecommunications system. The subscriber terminal is connectable to a central terminal of the wireless telecommunications system via a radio resource, the wireless telecommunications system providing multiple communication channels arranged to utilise the radio resource for the transmission of signals to and from the subscriber terminal, and a number of the communication channels being formed as a packet group for transmission of data packets to and from the subscriber terminal. The wireless telecommunications system comprises a packet controller connectable to the network and arranged to control the transmission of data packets to the subscriber terminal over the communication channels of the packet group.

The subscriber terminal is connectable to a central terminal of the wireless telecommunications system via a radio resource, the wireless telecommunications system providing a group of communication channels arranged to utilize the radio resource for transmission of data packets. The group is shared by a plurality of subscriber terminals and consists of downlink communication channels for transmission of data packets from the central terminal to the subscriber terminals and uplink communication channels for transmission of data packets from the subscriber terminals to the central terminal.
