Abstract: A binary syrup system for beverage dispensing including a pair of syrup containers holding different syrup components, a metering device with two inlets connected one to each container and a single syrup outlet connected to a dispenser. The metering device includes a flow channel therethrough for each component, a diaphragm device for equalizing the pressure in each channel, and a metering orifice downstream from the diaphragm device. This pressure equalization in combination with the metering orifices provides the necessary flow control and a constant predetermined volumetric ratio of the two syrup components when mixed to form the complete syrup.

Abstract: An ultrasound liquid level detector system for automatically controlling the dispensing of a post-mix beverage, including microprocessor-controlled circuitry for monitoring and implementing the automatic dispensing process. The microprocessor is interfaced with an ultrasonic transducer which transmits ultrasonic wave energy towards the container to be filled and receives reflected ultrasonic wave energy, the characteristics of which are analyzed within the microprocessor to implement control functions of the automatic dispensing process. Dispensing automatically begins as a container is inserted under the ultrasonic transducer into a proper position beneath a post-mix beverage dispenser nozzle. The transducer continuously measures the distance between the top or lip of the container and a liquid/foam interface of a carbonated beverage being dispensed into the container. Dispensing stops when the transducer senses a predetermined level of carbonated beverage within the container.

Abstract: A postmix juice dispensing system for reconstituting and dispensing pliable orange juice at freezer temperatures including a pressurizable canister for pressurizing concentrate in a flexible bag and for forcing the concentrate out of the bag. The canister includes a slidable carrier therein for receiving the bag and locking the bag oulet fitting in a proper location to matingly connect to the canister inlet fitting.

Abstract: A postmix juice dispensing system for reconstituting and dispensing pliable 5+1 orange juice at freezer temperatures of from about -10.degree. F. to 0.degree. F., including a pressurizable canister for pressurizing concentrate in a flexible bag and for forcing the concentrate through a concentrate conduit into a heat exchanger, then into a metering device and then into a mixing chamber where the concentrate mixes with water fed also through a metering device.

Abstract: A premix dispenser system including a housing for holding three replaceable four-liter PET beverage bottles, a refrigeration system, a CO.sub.2 cylinder, three adapters for connecting the CO.sub.2 cylinder to the bottles for pressurizing the bottles to dispense therefrom and to maintain the carbonation thereof, and three beverage dispensing valves, for dispensing a desired quantity of cold beverage from a selected one of the bottles. The refrigeration system can be easily switched between an electrical system and a cold plate system.

Abstract: In a post-mix beverage dispenser in which the concentrate is metered (or portioned) by a positive displacement metering pump having check valves, the improvement of a pressure control device for pressurizing the outlet line from the pump to prevent "blow-thru" of pressurized concentrate through the check valves of the pump, whereby the dispenser can be inexpensively used with a pressurized concentrate source. In addition, a post-mix beverage dispensing system including such metering pump and pressure control device and also including a pressurized canister holding pliable 5+1 juice concentrate at a temperature below 32.degree. F., and a heater for heating the concentrate in the concentrate line.

Abstract: A post-mix beverage dispenser and refrigeration system therefor including a water filter/purifier disposed within a refrigerated water reservoir for filtering carbonated water output from the dispenser carbonator en route to being mixed with flavor concentrate. The water reservoir also has a rotary agitator blade immersed therein with apertures to increase agitation.
