Abstract: A single chip direct conversion transceiver that includes a substrate on which a mixer unit and a local oscillator are provided as a circuit, and a positive hole formed between the mixer unit and the local oscillator and filled with a conductive plug to block signal leakage. A shield ground surface is formed above the substrate and blocks signal leakage occurring when the signals received through the antenna are input into the mixer and signal leakage occurring when the reference signal is input into the mixer from the local oscillator. A first interconnection is formed above the shield ground surface and connects the mixer unit and the local oscillator. Dielectric layers are formed between the substrate and the shield ground surface and on the shield ground surface to cover the first interconnection.

  • Publication number: 20060056362
Abstract: A wireless communication system including transmitters for determining a transmission rate for an associated receiver according to channel state information fed back from associated receivers, and transmitting packets at the determined transmission rate. In a communication method, a transmitter groups packets to be transmitted to the receivers according to transmission rates, and generates frames configured by packets with an identical transmission rate. The transmitter aggregates frames with different transmission rates into one transmission burst, and sends the transmission burst. The data communication method based on packet aggregation can efficiently manage resources by determining transmission rates for reception stations (STAs) on the basis of feedback channel state information in a transmission STA, aggregating packets to be transmitted to the reception STAs to form a packet group, and transmitting packet groups with different transmission rates using one multi-rate aggregation (MRA) burst.

  • Publication number: 20060034277
Abstract: Disclosed is a bitmap structure which enables the size of a bitmap field containing reception result information to be significantly reduced while fully performing its acknowledgment function. To this end, a message region for recording indicators, which enables reception success or failure for the maximum allowable SN level packets treatable by block ACK to be confirmed, is assigned. A message region for recording only the reception results for unsuccessfully received packets is also assigned. A receiving party confirms the unsuccessfully received packets through the indicators, and retransmits the unsuccessfully received packets. Also, a transmitting party provides the number of SN level packets and the maximum number of fragmentation packets to the receiving party. The receiving party determines an optimized bitmap configuration scheme, and transmits the reception results for the respective fragmentation packets to the transmitting party based on the determined bitmap configuration scheme.

  • Publication number: 20040071128
Abstract: A reliable multicast data retransmission method by grouping wireless terminals in a wireless communication environment and performing multicast data retransmission for a particular group of wireless terminals that needs multicast data retransmission, thereby providing reliable multicast data retransmission and improving the efficiency of a network. The multicast data retransmission method includes grouping wireless terminals based on distances between an access point and the wireless terminals and the amplitudes of signals output from the wireless terminals, selecting a repeater, which is to retransmit multicast packets, from each group and arranging the order in which repeaters retransmit multicast packets, creating a multicast packet train header indicating characteristics of each of the multicast packets, multicasting the created multicast packet train header. The multicast packets are retransmitted in the arranged order.

  • Publication number: 20040044720
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for controlling a real-time multimedia data generation rate, according to a wireless channel state, in a wireless communications system includes two different embodiments of methods for controlling a real-time multimedia data generation rate, i.e., an open-source control method and a closed-source control method. In the open source method, the real-time multimedia data generation rate is controlled using a transmission buffer state of a wireless medium access control (MAC) module of a wireless terminal and other information, such as a packet loss rate. In the closed source method, the appropriate real-time multimedia data generation rate of an application program, which generates multimedia data in real time in a wireless terminal, is directly applied from an access point (AP) or determined through negotiation with a wireless AP.

  • Publication number: 20040027991
Abstract: A method for generating packet-based transmission control parameters includes (a) receiving class information of an audio-video (AV) application and characteristic information of an AV packet, from the AV application, (b) receiving status information of a wireless channel and buffer storage time information of the AV packet, from a medium access control (MAC) layer, and (c) generating and outputting the packet-based transmission control parameters on the basis of the received information. In addition, a selective retransmission method includes (a) transmitting packets of an MPEG-2 frame in real-time, (b) checking for any transmission error after the transmission, and (c) if any transmission error is generated, retransmitting only packets of an I-frame. Therefore, it is possible to efficiently support AV service in wireless communication by dynamically controlling transmission control parameters according to a buffer status and by reflecting the characteristics of the AV frames.

  • Publication number: 20040006642
Abstract: A method of guaranteeing users' anonymity and a wireless LAN system therefor are provided. In a wireless LAN system, the method of guaranteeing user' anonymity includes (a) creating a plurality of temporary address sets, each of which corresponds to a unique Media Access Control (MAC) address of a wireless terminal and transmitting the temporary address set to the corresponding wireless terminal, and (b) performing data packet transmission between the wireless terminal and the wireless access node using a temporary address selected from the temporary address set as a source address or a destination address. Therefore, it is possible to guarantee users' anonymity and improve security of a system by not exposing a MAC address during data packet transmission between a wireless terminal and a wireless access node.
