Abstract: The invention relates to a multilayer material comprising at least two layers of web and at least one layer of particles, said particles being arranged between said at least two layers of web. According to the invention at least a part of said multilayer material is made of bioactive glass and said particles are sol-gel derived silica particles. The invention also relates to different uses of said multilayer material.

Abstract: The invention relates to glass ionomer for enhancing mineralization of hard tissue of mammals. The glass ionomer comprises, a inert biocompatible ceramic and a bioactive ceramic. The invention also relates to a method for enhancing mineralization of hard tissue of mammals with the aid of said glass ionomer. The invention further relates to the use of said glass ionomer for the preparation of products intended for treatment of defects of soft and hard tissue as well as the use of said glass ionomer for the preparation of a variety of products wherein the ability to enhance mineralization is advantageous.
