    Abstract: Yeast strains capable of increased prenyl phosphate production are provided, enabling increased terpenoid molecule production. Heterologous yeast strains with high prenyl phosphate availability are prepared using one or both of two different strategies for increasing the availability of prenyl phosphates for terpenoid production. First, by co-expressing multiple mevalonate pathway gene analogs, a novel heterologous combination of genes results, some of which increases the inherent availability of prenyl phosphates in yeast. Second, by expressing the non-endogenous enzyme ATP citrate lysase (ACL), a buildup of high cytosolic concentration of acetyl-CoA is produced in the cytosol of S. cerevisiae.

    Abstract: The valve comprises a valve socket to be mounted in the wall of an inflatable body, e.g. by a snap fastener device, and a valve cap having an internal thread for threaded connection with an external thread on the valve socket. The valve socket includes an air duct with a short duct section which is connected with the outer surface of the valve socket only through a number of narrow ducts discharging at the bottom of an annular groove from whose internal edge a number of radial ducts are connected with a central bore provided in the cap. At the internal edge of the annular groove a pressure sensitive annular sealing member is provided which by the pressure from the outside will be pressed out on a larger diameter in the annular groove. By eliminating the pressure action the sealing member reoccupies its initial position in airtight abutment between the bottom plate of the annular groove and an internal annular surface in the cap.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a magnetic valve assembly of the type in which an energized armature moves a valve closure member to an open position and a load spring in compression maintains the valve closure member closed when the armature is nonenergized. Relative movement between the armature member and the closure member is provided and an energy storing spring between these members resists the relative movement. In two embodiments the energy storing spring is stressed in compression in one and in tension in the other. The valve closure member does not begin to move until the armature causes the energy storing spring to be stressed to an extent equal to a predetermined stressing of the load spring. With this mode of operation the armature stroke is longer than the stroke of the closure member and this results in a smaller magnetic system being sufficient for a given valve system.
