  • Patent number: 10940621
Abstract: Various embodiments of the present invention relate to plastic-metal junctions and methods of making the same. In various embodiments, the present invention provides a method of forming a junction between a metal form and a solid plastic. The method can include contacting a metal including a plurality of pores and a flowable resin composition including a polybutylene terephthalate and a polyethylene terephthalate. The method can also include curing the flowable composition to form the solid plastic, to provide the junction between the metal and the solid plastic.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 10, 2016
Date of Patent: March 9, 2021
    Assignee: SHPP GLOBAL TECHNOLOGIES B.V.
Inventors: Hyemin Park, Kihyuk Jang, Bing Guan, Norio Ozawa, Takamune Yamamoto, Norihiko Ohno, Jos Van Gisbergen, Hongjie Yu
