  • Publication number: 20240083477
Abstract: A rail sensor unit (10) for attachment to a rail (12) of a rail track, and for sensing by attachment to the rail, acoustic signals and vibrations in the rail. The sensor unit (10) comprises a housing body (20) made in one piece, having a contoured sensing wall portion (22), and an interior compartment (24). The contour is tailored for fitting against a head, web or foot of a rail. At least one piezo-electric transducer (42) within the housing body (20) is coupled to the sensing wall portion (22) for sensing acoustic signals. The housing body (20) efficiently provides substantially all of the contact surfaces form-fitting to the rail. Electronic circuitry (52) in the housing has a controllable dynamic range configuration for both weak signal detection and strong signal detection. The electronic circuitry and electromagnetic shielding protection (48a, 50a) are mounted on a rigid-flex printed circuit substrate (46) folded in the interior compartment (24).

  • Patent number: 8424239
Abstract: A black light trap which will kill codling moths and will prevent strikes in apple and pear orchards. The device includes a solar panel that will charge batteries throughout the day and then a timer will turn on the light at night that will attract the codling moth into the zap screen that will kill them. The unit is mounted on a pole that is long enough to place the unit above the tree line so the moths are attracted away from the trees and has an outer screen that has a mesh size large enough to allow a moth to enter the unit, but small enough to keep them trapped long enough so that the moth will be attracted to a killing screen located in the unit and surrounding the light.

  • Publication number: 20050086912
Abstract: A method of manufacturing folder sheets with reinforce holes, which comprises unwinding a spindled paper band; printing predetermined graphics on the paper band; causing the paper band to go through corona treatment; applying a reinforcement strip of thermoplastic material to selected areas of the paper band; cutting the printed and partially reinforced paper band in a direction substantially perpendicular to one edge of the paper band in such a fashion as to form a plurality of paper strips each having an elongated reinforced edge area; layering and counting the paper strips until they reach a predetermined number; punching the paper strips in the reinforced edge area in accordance with a predetermined pattern; cutting the punched paper strips in a direction substantially perpendicular to the direction of the first cutting to form a plurality of folder sheets; counting and piling the folder sheets to form a block until they reach a predetermined number; and packaging and boxing the folder sheet blocks.
