  • Patent number: 6627836
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for the processing of a work piece by electrical discharge, the processing being carried out with at least two wire electrodes. In the process, the offset of both the positions of the at least two wire electrodes relative to one another are determined, which positions the wire electrodes occupy upon their clamping, because of their angles of contact on a corresponding wire guide and their different wire characteristics at the level of the work piece. Further, the positions for the wire electrodes during the processing of the work piece after a change from one wire electrode to the next one are connected on the basis of the offset determined between these wire electrodes.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 28, 2002
Date of Patent: September 30, 2003
    Assignee: Agie SA
Inventors: Ivano Beltrami, Wolfgang Nagel, Josef Budin

  • Patent number: 5034121
Abstract: An apparatus for preparing a machining liquid of an electroerosion machine comprises a filter to which is supplied a concentrate flow and from which a permeate flow is drained off. The filter is constructed as a membrane filter, the clogging of which is prevented in that the concentrate flow direction is periodically reversed.

  • Patent number: 5028319
Abstract: An apparatus for preparing a machining liquid of an electroerosion machine comprises a filter, to which is supplied concentrate flow from a concentrate tank and from which is drained a permeate flow. In order to obtain a high machining liquid quality the filter is constituted by a membrane filter, which is backflushed with a backflushing frequency, which is a function of a parameter of the electroerosion process.

  • Patent number: 4992641
Abstract: An apparatus for preparing and cleaning a machining liquid of an electroerosion machine comprises a filter, to which a concentrate flow is supplied from a concentrate tank and from which a permeate flow is drained off. Over a considerably extended time the quality of the machining liquid is maintained within a desired quality range, because the filter is constructed as a membrane filter and a disposal container having a fleece filter is provided to which is supplied at least part of the concentrate flow from the membrane filter and from which the partial flow filtered through the fleece filter is returned to the concentrate tank.

  • Patent number: 4859324
Abstract: An apparatus for filtering a machining liquid of an electroerosion machine includes a pump for supplying the machining liquid to a filter having a membrane. The filter is constructed in such a way that the concentrate is carried substantially tangentially to the membrane wall in a circuit, and the concentrate quantity per time unit carried substantially tangentially to the filter membrane wall in the circuit is greater than the permeate quantity per time unit removed from the filter.

  • Patent number: 4765877
Abstract: A power supply component for cutting a wire electrode of an electroerosion machine having a core of hard metal and about it a layer of an electrically conductive material, which is softer than the core. Within a relatively short time, when the machine is in use, the wire cuts a notch in the soft layer, the notch acting as a wire guide. As soon as the notch reaches the harder material of the core, the hard metal prevents any further notch deepening.

  • Patent number: 4634825
Abstract: A scavenging chamber surrounds the electrode and is brought up to the erosion zone in the workpiece. A slide ring is fixed to the casing of the scavenging chamber and seals the latter with respect to the workpiece surface. The scavenging chamber is provided with a structure for adapting at least the casing portion carrying the slide ring to the slide ring orientation defined by the workpiece surface. Preferably the scavenging chamber is provided with controllable elements for defining the shape of the scavenging chamber casing, which elements can be in particular constructed as flexible annular diaphragms.
