  • Patent number: 11160257
Abstract: A poultry holding system that can be erected tool-free by assembling lengthwise and crosswise members on support posts. Multiple upright support posts are set up in an evenly spaced grid. The crosswise members and lengthwise members are constructed as U-profile rails, with through-holes in the horizontal sections of the U-profiles that allow the members to be assembled and supported on the support posts. The poultry holding system thus constructed can have at least two tiers, one above the other. The assembly components are designed to be particularly economical, which allows greater flexibility in the design and construction of the poultry holding system to accommodate the constraints of the particular facility.

  • Patent number: 10954072
Abstract: A belt drive that has a transmission element that transmits a drive force to a drive element, which then sets a belt roller into rotational motion. The transmission element is a shaft and the drive element is an angular gear which has an input that is connected to the transmission element and an output that transmits the rotational motion from the gear to the belt roller. The belt drive is particularly suited for use in a belt system that is used in multi-tier poultry facilities. This belt system according to the invention includes a common drive motor that provides the drive force and a plurality of belt drives, one belt drive for each tier. One or more drive shafts transmit the drive force from the drive motor to each of the belt drives.

  • Patent number: 10696483
Abstract: A driver for use on a feed chain having elongate oval chain links that have two chain link legs. The driver is wider than the width of the chain link, so as to project beyond both sides of the chain link. The driver has a snap connector that allows the driver to be snapped onto the two chain link legs. A locking bar may be used with the driver to prevent the chain link legs from inadvertently releasing from the snap connector.

  • Patent number: 7614365
Abstract: A system and method for operating a manure conveyor device. The method includes driving a first return roller about which a manure conveyor belt circulates at a first rotational speed, and driving a second return roller about which the manure conveyor belt circulates at a second rotational speed. During a first interval the first rotational speed exceeds the second rotational speed, and during a second interval the second rotational speed exceeds the first rotational speed.

  • Publication number: 20050028748
Abstract: The invention relates to a manure transport device for livestock breeding operations, consisting of a circulating, driven manure conveyor belt arranged underneath a stall floor, which belt has at least one drive roller and at least one driven return roller. The return roller is arranged with its drive unit in a floating manner and an adjustment device acting upon the drive unit intermittently causes a tensioning of the manure conveyor belt.

  • Patent number: 5081920
Abstract: Apparatus for transporting freshly harvested mushrooms from the farm to a gathering station has an endless conveyor which advances discrete receptacles for individual mushrooms or groups of mushrooms from the beds to the gathering station past a trimming device where the stems of the mushrooms are trimmed in automatic response to advancement past a knife. The receptacles on the conveyor are designed to permit the stems of mushrooms to enter upright sockets which enable smaller mushrooms to descend therein to a level below that of larger mushrooms in order to ensure that the knife can sever the stems at optimum distances from the pilei of the mushrooms. The receptacles are free to pivot relative to the conveyor or are mounted on the conveyor with a certain amount of friction. If the receptacles are not free to pivot, the apparatus employs devices serving to prevent changes of orientation of receptacles which carry mushrooms from the farm toward and past the trimming device.

  • Patent number: 4936257
Abstract: 1. Coop arrangement for poultry farms.2.1 In the prior art, the droppings conveyor belts which are disposed below the superimposed rows of coops are conveyed back in the region of the coop arrangement below the coops. This results in various drawbacks.2.2 To eliminate these drawbacks, it is proposed that the return runs of all the droppings conveyor belts be conveyed back together, above or below the superimposed rows of coops, downstream of a scraping device for the droppings.2.3 To eliminate the previous expense for drying the droppings, a layout is proposed in which the droppings conveyor belts are guided through a drying channel. The drying air circulating in this drying channel dries the droppings which then fall from the droppings conveyor belts and can be delivered to a collecting apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4846337
Abstract: An arrangement for removing eggs from laying houses disposed at different levels includes a plurality of branch conveyors each of which is arranged at a respective level and extends by the corresponding laying houses. The branch conveyors function to collect the eggs from the laying houses and to convey the eggs to a main conveyor which transports the eggs to a common discharging location. The main conveyor comprises an endless chain driven in an endless path, and a plurality of egg carriers mounted on the chain. Each egg carrier includes a supporting arm which is pivotally connected to the chain at one end and carries a frame-like element at its other end. The chain has a vertical run which extends by the branch conveyors so as to permit the transfer of eggs from the branch conveyors to the main conveyor. The supporting arms are perpendicular to the planes of the respective frame-like elements and normally extend vertically so that the frame-like elements normally have a horizontal orientation.
