Patent number: 12186546Abstract: A cartridge insertion system includes a chassis supporting a fluid circuit, the chassis having a forward end with key pins projecting from the forward end and a rear end. The system also includes a medical treatment device with a slot opening closed by doors having a major dimension and having key openings spaced apart a same distance as the key pins on the chassis, such that when the chassis is pushed toward the slot opening, the key pins enter the key openings before the forward end meets the doors. The key pins push against latches that hold the door locked shut, so that the doors will not open if a cartridge without key pins is pressed against the door. When a cartridge with key pins is used, the doors unlock and allow the cartridge to be inserted.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 2020Date of Patent: January 7, 2025Assignee: NxStage Medical, Inc.Inventors: Garrick C. Adolf, Joseph A. Hoell, Jr., Jacob A. Clark, Derek Bruce Eldridge

Patent number: 12160042Abstract: A method of manufacturing an antenna lens is disclosed. In one example the method includes forming a shell of a first material, the shell defining an interior cavity and having an internal and external shape corresponding to a shape of an antenna lens. The method further includes at least partially filling the cavity of the shell with a second material different from the first material and having a second dielectric constant higher than a first dielectric constant of the first material. The method includes settling the second material inside the cavity and sealing the shell to form the antenna lens with the second material inside the shell.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 2021Date of Patent: December 3, 2024Assignee: ASTRONICS AEROSAT CORPORATIONInventors: Eric W. Kratzenberg, Joseph A. Hoell, Jr., John W. Berrigan

Patent number: 12000388Abstract: A peristaltic pump actuator includes a rotor element supporting rollers, the rotor element being configured to rotate about a rotor axis and the rollers each being configured to rotate about a roller axis that is parallel to the rotor axis. The rotor element and each of the rollers is constrained such that the rotor element and rollers are able to rotate only about their respective axes. A shoe having a displacement axis perpendicular to the rotor axis is forced against the rollers by an urging element without rotation in any axis. A tube may be placed between the shoe and the rollers.Type: GrantFiled: March 13, 2020Date of Patent: June 4, 2024Assignee: NxStage Medical, Inc.Inventors: Joseph A. Hoell, Jr., Alexander Muller

Patent number: 10697751Abstract: Different approaches for providing increased redundancy in determining a position of a rotating member, for example, a motor shaft, with galvanically isolated sensors. In one aspect, two separate on-axis sensing chips are positioned in line with one another on a PCB but each on opposite sides or surfaces of the PCB. Respective sensing surfaces are essentially parallel to one another. Advantageously, greater electrical isolation is provided by placing the two sensors on opposite sides of the PCB.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2017Date of Patent: June 30, 2020Assignee: Segway, Inc.Inventors: Joseph A. Hoell, Jr., James B. Carter
