  • Patent number: 6004325
Abstract: An apparatus for facilitating the filling up of a shaft bored into human femoral bone during hip replacement surgery with gelatinous methyl methacrylate bonding cement for receipt of an artificial hip prosthesis so as to maximally prevent loosening of the prosthesis after hardening of the cement consisting of a hollow cylindrically shaped applicator tube, a top end of a hollow first portion thereof which is characterized by the presence of threading threreabouts and a bottom end of which first portion has affixed to it, a top end of a hollow second portion about a centrally located through hole in a base of the first portion with there being affixed to a bottom end of the second portion a circular shaped flexible tip component.

  • Patent number: 5921006
Abstract: The invention disclosed is flexible ski boot having a rigid shell base, a cuff section attached to the rigid shell base, a tongue section flexibly connected to the cuff section and pivotably attached to both cuff section and the rigid shell base, a spoiler section pivotally attached to the rigid shell base, and temporarily attached to tongue section by ski boot bindings. The flexible ski boot further has two somewhat compressible pieces held within the spoiler section by a retainer and a bolt passing through the retainer, the compressible piece and into the rigid shell base, the compressible pieces tending to maintain the upper section of the ski boot in its upright position when force is rearwardly applied against the upper section.

  • Patent number: 5542533
Abstract: A scalpel cradle with a floor and four outwardly inclined sidewalls, with two convex elevations in the floor extending from one lateral side of the cradle to the other side of the receptor and with a rectilinear cap the anterior portion of which is in the shape of a symmetrical letter Y which is compressibly elastic in the vicinity of the leg component of the anterior portion such that the bipartite leg component of the anterior portion is amenable to receipt of the handle of a surgical scalpel resting therein on its bottom side, and with a outwardly directed curvaceous extension affixed to the anterior portion and in the shape of a downwardly directed u-shaped curve.

  • Patent number: 5468245
Abstract: A method and apparatus for filling a shaft bored into human femoral bone during hip replacement surgery with gelatinous methyl methacrylate bonding cement for receipt of an artificial hip prothesis so as to maximally preventing loosening of the prosthesis after hardening of the cement consisting of a cylindrically shaped syringe gun unit screwed into a cylindrically shaped hollow head of a hollow cylindrical applicator tube to the exterior of which applicator tube near its tip there is affixed an inflatable balloon amenable to receipt of fluid by way of tubing passing through a distinct lumen of said applicator tube which said tubing is attached at one end to a hollow canal in the applicator tube leading via the lumen to the balloon and attached at its other end to a valvular component in turn attached to the cylindrical base of a second syringe gun unit which said apparatus serves to facilitate injection of such cement incrementally into relatively air tight spaces within such shaft formed in view of the inf

  • Patent number: 5346495
Abstract: A method and apparatus for applying methyl methacrylate under pressure into the top surface of a human tibial bone which apparatus is a solid molded one piece unit body with three rodlike extensions emanating from the body therefrom. A first rodlike extension has a solid cylindrically shaped head on its top side for receipt of a slaphammer and the long central axis of this extension is virtually co-axial with the long central axis of a second rodlike extension and sharp beveled end located at the base of the second rodlike extension just below a circular stop piece which beveled end for burrowing into bone is farther from the cylindrically shaped head than any other part of the one piece unit.
